A long offseason is ahead of us, we're double digit days away from kickoff, heck months from even Spring ball. So one final hurrah for the most irritating, holier-than-thou, catfished, yankee fanbase in country, the Fighting Lou Holtzes of Notre Dame.

Seriously, I'd be hard pressed not root for Auburn or Tennessee to take these nuts a down a notch.

We're triple digits away from kickoff.

I had a great time with ND fans in Miami.

I want to see them do well. A good Notre Dane team is good for college football.

I would love to catch a game up in South Bend.

I don't get this argument. It doesn't make sense to me.

I thought they sucked. Their women were the ugliest I've seen of a major fanbase.

:kige:

Plus, Brian Kelly killed a guy, their team raped a girl who killed herself, and their Heisman candidate is a fricking idiot.

That's one of the emptiest, most meaningless arguments ever. College Football has gotten way bigger than ever through a period of time in which Notre Dame was largely irrelevant. Notre Dame being good makes no difference to the health of College Football.

College Football grew while Alabama was down, while Notre Dame was down, while USC was down and while Florida State was down. No one team is that important.

College football is more fun to me with a pretty good Notre Dame that is overrated and is just successful enough to keep their fans hoping for great things before they get skull f*cked in a bowl game.

I can get on board with this sentiment.

I do enjoy them getting their hopes up only to be crushed. But I can't say I don't like it when they just get their heads beat in every game and the entire season is miserable for them.

The only problem with the "A good ND team is good for college football" argument is the East Coast media fawns over them too much. Look at this year. Manti Teo became the greatest defensive football player in college football history even though he had stats that wouldn't get him on the All SEC team. Every win they had was treated as though it was some epic victory though most of them were against highly overrated competition. They simply take up too much oxygen that could be spread around to other teams and conferences.

It's been comical how many times over the last 20 years ND started the season ranked only to finish up .500 or worse. Mainly though I just can't stand the aura that they are somehow "holier than thou" of everyone else and the model of "what college football is supposed to be". Screw 'em.

My favorite thing about Notre Dame is trying to guess when they'll pull out the academic smack. They always do, and it is always hilarious.
