We weren't nearly as successful as we were in Gus's first two years even with about the same amount of talent (excluding Cam). I just hope the rest of the SEC didn't figure out our offense that quickly.

Offensive players leaving after 2010 off the top of my head.

D. Adams, Zachary, Cam, Ziemba, Pugh, Berry, Isom, Fannin, Carr, Kodi Burns, Eric Smith. There maybe more, so I don't believe it was the same amount of talent.

True, but in 2009 we had a similar talent level, just more experience.

You can add Dyer to that list. He really didn't contribute much the next year.

Most of those guys were juniors then. They were still better than what we had in 2011. We also had Ben Tate then. I think he was better than Dyer was in 2011. Then there's also the fact that Chizik had his hands in the offense in 2011.

We lacked outside blocking that made the 10' team so good. In Malzahns offense you have to have wr's that can be physical and seal blocks. We had no threat at QB to make defenses respect the read option. Everyone stacked the box on us and said frick you the QB isn't going to keep it and he damn sure can't throw it.

Same thing that was wrong with it in 2012, no QB. When Ds know that there is no threat against the pass, they will crowd the LOS. It says a lot about Dyer and Mason that they were both 1000 yard rushers with out any QB support.

Similar to 2009. We will see Gus run "his" offense again. It really depends on QB play though.

Losing 4 of your 5 OLine starters who have started some 160+ games together and won numerous accolades amongst them doesn't hurt at all either

Same problem as last season. Poor OL and qb play. If our OL improves we will be fine. If not expect another long year

In 2011? He was our work horse. He still rushed for 1,200 yards, and should've gotten even more carries.

Hard to say, I'm pretty excited at Sammie Coates and Ricardo Louis. The backfield should be fine with Mason and Payne, It all really depends on QB play.

True. Marshall seems perfect for our offense. So does JJ.

He was suspended for a few games. Omac started in front of him. He had so much potential.

Everything went downhill after we beat SC by controlling the clock and not running HUNH. That gave Chizik the mentality that we could win every game by just playing it safe and controlling the ball and the clock. Gus' offense wasn't the same after that game.

The line blocked well enough even when they were outnumbered in th box. OT was a weak spot all year, but the OL would have looked alot better if we had some QB play. They playcalling did not help the QBs either, and we only had one real WR threat. This should change with Gus, it did in 2009.

You know, I never thought about that, but it's 100% true.
