Can't handle being lil' bro which is why they have long adopted the pseudonym Texas Aggies. Texas seems to be a name they want so badly but won't admit why.

They used to be called Texas University. The original joke was that we wouldn't capitalize their letters. Then when they changed their name we still kept our nickname for them.

Similar to how people hate THE Ohio State University.
They say that shite in texas. THE University of Texas.
Been going on for years, and then we remind them that they used to call themselves "Texas University". So they have no need to be snobby fricktards

Aggys blame WWII for their mediocrity and Texas' dominance over them on the gridiron.
This is the origins of the Tea sips.

We also sing "Saw Varsity's Horns off" when their cow's current name is Bevo.
We are all about that time in history, as that is when we were national champions.

Ags just don't agree the they are the "University of Texas" as if they are the chosen University for the state of Texas.
Much like "The... Ohio State" grates on nerves when you see NFL players say which school they went to.
Not a big deal outside of Texas. Just one of the things we say to irritate them. Both sides have these types of dismissive terms for each other.

"Texas University" rather than "university of Texas."
Back in the day the Old Ags figured since A&M was established first, UT shouldn't be called UT.
But at the end of the day, don't care; beat Bama; won Heisman.

The irony of using "aggys" in your post was lost on you I'm sure.

I guess people thought it was insulting back in the early 1900s. I dunno.

Except the term teasip was around before WWI. There are programs from the annual rivalry game that prove it. So yeah it really isn't.
