How old do you think is too old to start college? I'm about to get out of the Army and plan on attending the University of Arkansas. I will be 26. Thoughts?

Just don't live in the dorms
Do it. If you have the GI Bill, take full advantage while you can

Never too old. I have a good friend who went about the same age as you. He has two semesters left.
Think about how old you'll be in four years when you graduate. Then think about how old you'll be in four years if you don't graduate. (Hint: they should be the same number)

As long as your not one of those 60 year old women that ask 1,000 questions in world lit you'll be fine man.

My freshman year, I had a guy in one my classes that was 89 years old.

That is a good age to start.
Seriously, you are now mature enough to get shite done and not frick off all the time going to parties, playing xbox, etc.
I got burnt out after my sophomore year, dropped out, got involved in a start up business, did that for a few years, it went under, I went back, worked full time a an absolute crap job (skilled labor) to pay tuition. It worked out in the long run as I did better the second time around, was more focused, new what degree I wanted to complete, etc. Plus working that shitty job helped as it showed how committed I was towards reaching goals to employers once I graduated.
Apparently the younger generation isn't having to work while in college, their parents are paying for everything or they are living off student loans. I graduated debt free and recommend you do whatever possible to do so as well. I have 2 associate degrees, a bachelors degree, could complete a second with about 15 hours of work, or another associates with 6 hours. I'm considering starting a masters degree.
Look into online courses for gen eds or whenever possible, you are not missing anything by not going to class since you are already married...

I did the exact same thing. I got out of the military at 23, went and worked in KC for three years, then decided to go back to college.
Imma student and shite.

Yea I have been doing online courses at the Community College in DeQueen since they are transferable to the UofA. I have a lot of certifications and military schools that I hope can be turned in for credits in the degree plan I'm looking at.

Are you using the Post 9/11 GI Bill?

Most of my credits (aviation major) in college were non-transferrable. That being said, I want a degree I can fall back on if the shite hits the fan. I'm thinking about going back and getting another degree. Either in Business (UofA) or Law (UCA)

Yeah, I have some kickers too. I am using Chapter 33 so they charge the school directly and I get $1500 a month to go to school. I attent UAFS.

I went to college after the Air Force and didn't feel out of place at all. I was 28 at the time. Just don't be one of those guys that asks a million questions at the end of class and keep us all from leaving like all the other nontraditional students.

I'm 31 and actually just reapplied to Arkansas today to go back for a second undergrad degree. You're never to old to go imo.

Not even close to too old! I went back at 22 and knew plenty of guys all the way up to 30 going back. It's a lot easier with a bit of maturity and discipline and the GI Bill makes it tremendously feasible. Best of luck to you.

Not much to say that hasn't been said but I say go for it. You will do great and should be applauded.
