the crowd gasped then fell completely silent at Kyle field. TAMU will continue to build their program around this kid. Its only a matter of time before he really gets lit up scrambling around. It worked this year, but next will proly be different. Whats he weight 179 lbs?

You know, I think you're the first person to mention this. Astute observation

Haven't people been preaching that shite since Week 1 of this football season? He made it through one year pretty clean.

If I had a dollar for every fanbase that said this, I'd be a millionaire. He's 6' 200 or 205, can't remember exactly. HTH

I'll say this about Johnny--at his size, I'd much rather have him hopping around like a flea on a griddle than standing back in the pocket looking simple. How many times do we see pocket passers get absolutely annihilated from the blind side or just from standing in there a second too long?

Another thing--even though he doesn't slide, he knows how to take a tackle. He's so quick he rarely takes the brunt of a defender's blow. Half the time he's back up running to the huddle for the next play before the defensive player's picked themselves up off the grass.

He is good at avoiding contact, so I'm not so sure he is going to take a lot of big hits. Shifty little dude. Someone could always land on him wrong or he could have a freak injury like any other person, but the hits he takes scrambling aren't as bad as hits immobile QBs take in the pocket.

Teams will adjust to his skill set, but even then his improvisation abilities will be hard to deal with. Stat-wise he probably just had his best season, but he will still be a really good college QB for the next 3 years.

Any player can get hurt on any play. They can also get hit by a car or flunk out of school. Manziel is no more likely than anyone else to have this happen to him. Sure he handles the ball a ton but he is a fitness freak and has a style that avoids a lot of big hits. He is also listed at 6'1 and 205.

He is worth some W's to A&M, no doubt. His backups are no scrubs though and A&M is recruiting offensive talent especially lights out. Few teams can lose a starting QB and not have a dropoff, esp when that starter is a ridiculous talent like Manziel. In truth though the A&M offense would shift to a having a lot less QB running without him and faster passes. Wouldn't be as good but it wouldn't suck.

He will get killed. I swear. He's doomed. Somebody is going to blow his face off. Wait and see....

That was the absolute quietest I have ever heard Kyle Field. It was eerily quiet. I swear you could hear the hum of the lights above the stadium.

JFF will be different type of player next year. Will not need to scramble as much next year anyway. Ags defense will be much better. We going to be just fine.

The kid is like Mike Vick. He will go a longer time without getting hurt than some big pocket passer like Wilson.

But, he will eventually get folded up something fierce.

On another note, did anyone else recognize how low A&Ms level of play dropped to when JFF wasn't in the game? They looked like a completely different team, and not in a good way.

I like the potential, but I won't truly be impressed with him until I see what he does in year's 2 and 3.

Don't worry JFF is going to become an SEC Gem making hitting him draw flags.

Johnny Football has proven more durable, sadly, than C-Mike who, judging by his size and conditioning, should've been darn near indestructible.

Some players are simply injury prone. Some aren't. That's not something you can coach.
