Why did this clown have to attend LSU?

We're 'olds' with wives and kids (they are not coming :)) so probably hitting tailgates for food/drinks and general football talk with SEC fans I assume the drive in and out from NO is insane on game days, and BR hotels are full - any suggestions - motels or hotels between NO and BR or other routes within an hour max of the stadium?

Come back to this thread, i'll put together some things for you to do and consider and post in a bit!

Hey Tiger Fans: A buddy of mine and I are planning to head to Baton Rouge for the Alabama game this year - starting a tradition of going to 1 big game a year outside of the Big 12 and of course this was an easy call. Any info on best tailgating spots, what to do the night before, sites to see, etc is appreciated. We'll be driving in from the Austin area on Friday afternoon.

You are going to have an incredible time! A few things:

Hotel - Get one now, and try to make sure you are located downtown. Hilton Baton Rouge Capital Center, Hamptonn Inn downtown (Brand new, very nice), or Hotel Indigo are all good choices.

As far as the rest of the questions, need some more info about you and your buddy.

1. Age group?
2. Guy/Guy?
3. What do you want to do the night before? (Eat really good food, get a feel for the campus, party with college kids, drink with young adults, casinos, see the area?)
4. Do you have tickets?
5. How good are you at drinking? (Can you last from 8:00AM on gameday after a night of going out until the 8:00PM kickoff?)
Southwest gives full refunds on regular fares as long as you cancel 10 minutes before departure time. If you booked a discount fare "wanna get away" they will give you a full credit. If they didn't show up and you didn't cancel, you will likely lose your funds

Actually, the Hampton Inn by time square is one of the top rated hotels in the city on trip advisor. It is very nice and convenient with large rooms for NY standards. Not a terrible location
