Matthews will be back... his family's got plenty of money.
He is also a possible 1st round player. It wouldn't shock anybody to see him leave.

Bama will be good and in the nat'l championship mix, LSU will be good and in the nat'l championship mix- and they both better look out for that kid from Kerrville who seems to be getting harder to catch every damn week.

The problem is that if JFF is running, regardless of the reason, its rarely a bad thing for aTm.
Next year Manziel won't catch the league by surprise. Teams will be preparing for him all off season by scheming and having certain substitution packages. I've said that the reason that LSU beat A&M is that we went back to the scheme we used vs Oregon last year during the game.

Yeah, but let's not act like he just all of a sudden snuck up on people late in the year. The guy's been doing this all year- and has gotten better the last couple of games. I can't take anything away from him.

No it wont shock anyone to see him leave, but the Matthews are a close knit family and I would be very surprised to see Jake pass up an opportunity to start along side his brother.
Luke is actually the one I am least worried about. His comments in the papers recently have certainly implied he is not leaving early.
It may all be wishful thinking on my part, but I think these guys know that can win a championship next year if they stick around.

LSU is tied for first or second in the country for freshmen played. LSU will be dangerous next year.

This. Its not like Alabama didn't know what was coming last weekend.

I agree with you Rubble.
Alabama and LSU will be in it neck and neck until Saban and/or Miles retire.

The key for A&M will be can their O-line block for him next year after they lose three of five starters.

True, but giving teams like LSU, Bama, Florida, etc. an offseason to nail down what JFF can & can't do will make all the difference.
The guy is good, make no mistake about it; but to think the SEC defensive gurus won't shut that shite down in hurry is idiotic.
It's not like the SEC hasn't seen the "spread" offense and/or an exceptional running QB. Did you forget about Timmy Tebow? or What about Cam Newton? aTm fans act like their offense is some sort of phenomenon.

If AJ doesn't come back next year could be pretty rough. Skill positions will be the strength on offense and without a seasoned QB that can get them the ball that isn't really a strength. I think a third place finish in the west certainly isn't out of the question.

Mentioning Tim Tebow and Cam Newton doesn't help your argument. Those two names have three BCS Titles.

Well, it is kind of comical that this guy was only a 3-Star recruit, according to Rivals.
Says a lot.

Maybe...But seeing as Alabama recruits as well as anyone, I doubt the drop-off (that everyone expects to see, but seldom does)won't be that severe.....

Don't they lose both of their NFL-caliber OTs next year?
Only if they both declare. Jake Matthews wants to play on the same o-line as his brother (Pat Lewis' backup, Mike Matthews #56, who has had a significant amount of playing time so far)

You are making a big mistake if you discount how big having Brandon Williams (5-star RB, transfer from Oklahoma 6'2 210) eligible will be.

A&M has no chance in Baton Rouge next year.

I see fans saying that 2013 is really the year we were likely to win the title anyway, and this is a down year. Do yall really believe that?
This time last week the talk across the state of Alabama was how would the 2012 Bama squad fare against an NFL team. Now today we hear "this is a down year" and "2013 is really the year we were likely to win the title anyway"?
Really? Come on now.
