seems like Pinkel is feeling the pressure - and he is recruiting Phil Pressey

There is a lot of truth to that first tweet.
I think its become quite clear that our roster might not be "SEC ready" and I'm not sure how much game planning and scheme adjustments can be made to overcome that reality.

there can always be adjustments, you just have to be willing to make them. mizzou's stubbornness to adapt is ridiculous.

You cant always scheme and adjust your way around a lack of talent and or around depth issues created by injuries.

Yep we are just outmatched talent wise in every game. I do think some of the depth problems are an issue of not just injuries but recruiting as well

The only position I see us having true lack of talent is the o-line and that has been spotlighted even more by the injuries. I'm not sure even our projected o-line would be doing great this year.
I don't think they approached this year the way they should have, hindsight 20 20 though. I'm now more in favor of some major changes in our offensive scheme.
I don't think they used the roster as well as they should have. It should have been a blessing to have a guy like McGriff-Culver on the roster this year. There should have been a number of short yardage plays designed for him, and he should have been used as a blocker in the back field.
We are using Moe totally wrong. Those sweeps are a prime example of the coaching staff not recognizing strengths/weaknesses. Moe isn't fast enough (as the announcer pointed out) to run that sweep. Moe should be catching passes over the middle, and short plays underneath. We have way too many swift guys on the team to be wasting plays handing the ball off to Moe.

Injuries exposed your depth & your schedule doomed you....
I think you'd be feeling a lil' better & prolly 5-1 if you'd played Miss St.'s schedule IMO they're average...
MSU schedule...
Jackson St.
Auburn
Troy
S. Alabama
Kentucky
Tenn
Vs playing...
SE La
#12 UGA
#26 ASU
#7 SCjr
UCF
Vandy
#1 Bama....
shite starts rolling downhill & it's hard to stop the momentum...

Good point dallas.
It does suck that perception is reality, and the reality is we're 0-4 in the SEC, 3-4 on the year. So the perception is we suck (and rightfully so) but this team could also be 5-1 and perceived as good.
I think the comparison a lot of Mizzou fans are now making is we would be sucking in the Big12 this year too.. We probably wouldn't be beating OU, TX, WVU, KSU, OSU, TCU and maybe others like TTU. I imagine that MSU will even out by the end of the year.. a 5-1 start would have been nice for the morale of the fanbase and team though.

No question man. It all starts at the O-line and ours would have been taxed to the limit completely healthy this year. Neither QB has had time to make plays consistently on even medium routes as there just isnt enough time to for the receivers to get to their respective breaks and moves on the routes. Without the ability to keep defenses honest with a deeper threat they are just licking their chops on run blitzes as well as coming underneath with coverages to stop the q-slants and plays into the flats.
The program knows what and how it needs to recruit moving forward I think. Its just a matter of getting results on the recruiting trail.
I have a feeling there will be some adjustments in the off season to offensive gameplan. I dont think we will abandon the spread but it will take on a more meaty and power feel to it next year.

Yes. The schedule this year has done us no favors. Not sure who in the SEC thought it was a good idea to make Mizzou play @ aTm for the third year in a row either. I understand that the prior two years were as members of the Big 12 but someone needed to take that into consideration.

I hope he is feeling the pressure, because the man he hired to help game plan and draw up plays on offense should be demoted back to QB Coach/Head recruiter.
I'm convinced they need a new offensive coordinator and a new offensive scheme. Right now, just about everything on offense sucks so bad that it makes the defense suck. Think about that.

I think alot of folks fail to understand, knee injuries are not easy to come back from. MCL injuries are not quite as bad as ACL. The linemen that have come back this season from MCL injuires are probably playing at 75 to 80 percent of thier ability and thats being generous. Basicaly, unless surgery is done, about the only thing they will do for these injuries is to further strengthen the knee joint to give it further support through strength and less dependent on the ligament. Been there, done that.
So we have a freshman, a former walk-on and three other linemen with MCL injuries that are at best 80% effective. This spells disaster with the D-lines they've been facing. Personaly, I think they have done as well as they can given the situation.
Just and observation.

The only positions that don't have a lack of talent/depth are maybe WR and RB.

Hard to tell, seems like your RB's never touch the ball (or not enough)...
No shite, Your D is good enough that the O should be able to slow it down & run it a little more. shite keep the clock moving & try to win it in the 4th. If your gonna go 3 & out might as well take 2 1/2 min off the clock instead of 30 seconds...

How much different is this season if we just held onto the damn 3rd quarter lead against Georgia. I know, it is what it is but I just wonder how much that would have changed our perspectives even losing to Vandy.

Totally disagree.
You're telling me our LB's aren't talented enough? Come on man. Or deep enough? We have 3 legit SEC LBs, and their back ups are no slouches.
We're good enough in the backfield. We're talented enough up front on D. Basically our entire defense is good enough. Being on the field too much has hurt them. Plus the ridiculous amount of short fields we've given offenses hasn't helped their cause either.
WRs, QBs, and RBs are all talented enough... the o-line is the only position that is for sure lacking in talent and depth.

I think we pushed hard for this, promises were made to kids currently on our roster that they would be playing in Texas, I think Pinkel pushed to have this game in Texas. And for recruiting purposes too. I think if it was up to Pinkel he would have Tamu as our cross rival not Arkansas.

Yep. Good point. I forgot about that angle.

Yost's play calling, and Pinkel's overall game management, drive me crazy. Absolutely crazy! I certainly wouldn't mind seeing some changes in this area. But I think Pinkel and his staff have done a great job in every other aspect of building the program, including recruiting. It must get even better if we are going to compete in the SEC. The question is has Pinkel and his staff hit their ceiling or can they take it to the next level once they start seeing the benefits of being in the SEC?
We're already starting to see the fruits of some of those benefits with this upcoming recruiting class. But really, we won't fully realize the true benefits of being in the SEC for awhile. Pinkel has gotten us this far with the resources he has been given and I think we need to give him the opportunity to show us what he can do once he has accrued some of these longer term benefits. But he is also going to need to make some changes in order to survive the short term as well.

I support Pinkel, Yost needs to go. I cannot support your statement though. Having only 14 scholarship players on the OL and 22 Receivers on scholarship is just freaking wrong way to build an offense, even a spread offense.
