From what I've seen the Mizzou/Kansas rivalry was long and very bitter. Hate-filled even.

Now that Mizzou is in the SEC does the Mizzou fanbase want a new "Rival"?

Well it would be kind of dull without it, but I am not once that feels they need to force a rivalry.

Yes, but not a rival like kU. I want a healthy rivalry, not one rooted in war, pillaging and murder.

I think Mizzou-Arkansas could grow into a good one.

Yes. I think it takes a while though. Hopefully we remain in the east forever, because I could see some decent rivalries develop with a lot of those teams. I wouldn't be as excited to try to develop rivalries with Ole Miss, MSU, LSU, hell...anyone in the west besides Arky. Even the Arky thing isn't as exciting to me as a potential Tennessee rivalry.

Rivalries will develop naturally over time. I too can see a decent rivalry developing with Arkansas. Both have experienced being the new boy on the block. Shared border. Recruiting battles. Mike Anderson/Nolan Richardson/Norm Stewart. I think those are some of the things that will make games against Arkansas fun, whether its called a rivalry or not.

The one I see developing is with aTm. I just wish who ever set the schedule this year would have had them come up here instead we have to play them at thier place again this year.

I would have liked Arkansas as a rival but with the rise in aTm jackasses on the rant now running thier mouths, I'd like to see us continue to play them and they are becoming natural rivals and there is a dislike starting to surface. I know they are in the west, but it just feels right to me. I'd like to see Mizzou go down there and stomp thier asses.....again.

I think there will be a rivalry in basketball between Arkansas and Mizzou. With the coaching connection and all. But football, I want aTm.

I have never wanted a rivalry like we see a lot of fans pursuing today. I'll pass on poisoning trees, Teabagging other fans, piss balloons, assaulting other fans, etc..

We don't have a true rival and I'm perfectly content with that. I am interested to see how the Mizzou fanbase adjusts to not having a rival. I hope that it turns into a pleasant surprise for your fans, it makes he whole game experience more enjoyable when you can attend a game at another school and simply enjoy the experience.

When 2 more schools join the conference I believe Mizzou will be moved to the West Division.

Hopefully they'll start the pods if that happens.

I've heard talk about pods when we hit 16 but still not sure how it will shake out. You can bet LSU will want aTm and the 2 Miss schools in their pod.

That's fine. We'll go with Arky, Mizzou, Vandy, Kentucky.

Sure Rivalries are good, but not another kU rivalry. That rivalry was poison and I honestly hated, really hated many of those motherfrickers. Living in Rogers I can see a good rivalry with Arky develop especially in BBall.

Kansas rivalry was toxic...stemming from the Civil War. They were a bunch of raping, pillaging, thieves burning Missouri towns. They then re wrote history regarding our retaliatory raid on Lawrence and burning it to the ground. They burned Osceola Mo in 1861 and we burned Lawrence in 1863...2 years later...

I think Arky would be a natural rivalry for us and much less toxic...

NWA and SWM are fairly similar culturally. Should not ever have the hatred Mizzou had with KU.

As others have said, rivalries develop naturally over time. I don't want to see another rivalry like kU - it was mean, and bitter, and too full of actual hate to be really enjoyable. I can see a rivalry developing with Arkansas, and I hope it'll be a little more healthy than the one with kU. I can also see a rivalry developing with Tennessee for some reason.

The KU rivalry will never be topped bc factors like burning towns and a civil war...

But Ark, you're going to be our rival. You don't really have one.. and take away the AR and you got Kansas. We are both solid football and basketball schools.. wish we kicked it off this year with a game.. but by the way both our seasons are going, maybe its best we didn't.

I don't see Tenner ever being a rival b/c they are too entrenched with Bama, then FL, KY (weird) and UGA.

We really don't need a rival. We fight/argue amongst our own fanbase to focus on another.

Man, I hate to break it to you but Bama, FL, and UGA all have bigger fish to fry than you...

Bama has LSU and Auburn. You're just a team to them.

FLA and UGA are on their own level, you're just another team to them.

We are natural rivals as the Ozarks are split with MU-Ark fans.

Our state border is huge, I honestly think you have to be totally kidding yourself to think we are not going to be fierce rivals.

Not only on the field but in recruiting. Our campuses are relatively close, only like 3.5 hours apart I think.. We have already seen lots of decisions come down to MU or Ark... and that will only pick up every year.

To say you're too entrenched with Bama, FLA, and UGA is just funny..

Jafo. Pinkel wanted to go to Tamu this year..

When you recruit all these Texas kids you promise that there will be games in TX. It helps our recruiting ect..

We will become permanent cross rivals with Arkansas, and a strong rivalry will ensue.
