are we so quick to forget how jacked up bamas program was when he got there?

the man is absofrickinglutely dominating CFB right now and started with a team that was finishing up probation...they were fricking terrible...Notre Dame used to be a powerhouse too...and it isnt until the right coach comes in that they start winning again...yes the culture and tradition is a base to build from...but you have to have the knowledge and ability to do the building...he has that...and more...no team shows the discipline and physicality that sabans teams do consistently...i think you are just blinded by your orange and blue jealous glasses my friend..

Alabama is one of the easiest schools to win at. Demographics, geographic location, fan support, and winning tradition.

I disagree...CNS's legacy drops a few notches in my book. He is winning at a tradional powerhouse that was built by someone else.

You on stupid juice? Yeah, we were riding high under the previous coach just because of Bama's name.

Notre Dame also has academic standards that makes it harder for them to compete today.

I already agreed in this thread that Saban is the best coach in the country. I just said he hurt his legacy by going to Bama.

Well this makes perfect sense. Bama wins because they win. Brilliant.

Pat Dye should not comment on the worth of any man. He doesn't know what kind of man Nick Saban is, or if Gene Chizik is a better man. He really should hang it up, and just be a fan of Auburns and keep his mouth shut. He is not even an expert on football nor less the qualities of a man. Why can he not talk about Auburn without comparing them to Alabama? Auburn should be able to stand on their own merit. When he is asked a question about Auburn, he always brings Bama into the answer...."Well Bama had a bad season before".
That is not what he was asked.

Don’t question the guy we got leading the program,” said Dye, who reminded the crowd of Chizik’s part in three undefeated teams, including Auburn’s 2004 and 2010 squads. “I wouldn’t swap him for 10 (Alabama coach Nick) Sabans.

“Saban is the best coach in the country — I’ll grant him that. But he ain’t a better man than Gene Chizik.”

My reaction to reading this....

Auburn and State are in the middle of nowhere.

ETA: Texas and Florida would have hurt Saban's legacy too.
