Judging by that shot it was going to be a fake.

Someone take this over to Hogville for a well balanced, reasoned, analysis...

Breeding isn't really a Rugby Punter and the way they are pulling only really leaves one option. Do have a question since I can't fast forward the vid for some reason- Does Breeding move forward trying to get momentum during the snap or go straight into "oh frick" jump mode?

I think Coach Saban said on his coaches show it was going to be a fake. Maybe that's where you heard it ?

No. I literally just noticed it while eating a bowl of chili.

It really does look like a fake. Sold.

straight into "oh frick" jump mode
It was way over his head...

Beef? 5 Alarm? White Bean?

Ground beef, Dark red and white kidney beans (canellini), stewed & diced tomatoes, onion, green pepper, corn, cayenne, chili powder, beer, salt...
It wouldn't fly in a Texas chili cook-off, but its a hit here.

Sounds tasty. Like the addition of corn in it.

Someone else brought it up on here, I think - or maybe it was on woopig. But yeah, I think it was obviously going to be a fake. That poster thought that the reason the snap was bad was because the guy was trying to get it back there as quickly as possible to help with the fake. Regardless, it was definitely going to be a fake.
Also, people need to stop saying, "Breeding isn't really that much of a rugby style kicker." He's nothing like a rugby style kicker. He's never done it in a game for Arkansas, and he certainly wouldn't do it moving to his left.

Looks like it from that shot. This makes it even dumber, although it may have worked lol.

On the "Nick Saban Show" the Sunday after the game. CNS actually said that it was a fake, and were out of position on it.
Posted on 9/25/12 at 12:03 am to DvlsAdvocat
Saban said in either the Saturday or Monday press conference after the game that they were in the process of running a fake punt.

I'm surprised we called that! And sad it was gonna probably work.

On review, forward progess was called quick but he was clearly down before losing ball.

On the punt snap over the head that led to Bama's first points, did anyone say that Arkansas was attempting a fake punt on the play? I'm watching game on youtube and noticed that the entire team did a hard slant to the left on the snap, as if to lead block for a run by the punter or a screen pass. Sorry if I'm asking a repetitive question that is german'ed to death, but I was watching the game when it happened live, not monitoring the board.
Great catch. I was at the game and didn't even notice this, but it definately looks like a fake. As others have metioned, Breeding doesn't really do the Rugby style.
The tell tell sign is the picture that was posted by capstone. Check out the deep snapper headed for the outside linebacker.
Again, good find and thanks for sharing.
Breeding has been timed at a 4.5 forty this year.

Yeah they're slanting to block for a run. Wow.
