To turn the Cowboys around ?

Jason Garrett is not the answer and Jones wants another championship before he dies.

Edit: I left out an "l", so I change my answer to half a pack of gum and a handjob.

Saban doesn't fit into the NFL because HC in the NFL aren't as important as they are at the college level, at least not anymore. They're motivators and such, but Saban's brand of coaching requires him to be in complete control.

Why wouldn't he just throw the bank at an already established NFL coach? Like Bill Bellycheck? Or even Jim Harbaugh.

What makes you think Saban wants more money? If I made what he made I'd be sitting pretty.

Saban wouldn't win a Super Bowl at Dallas. He isn't a very good NFL coach.

Coaching college and NFL are two totally different worlds. I don't think Saban's dictator attitude would fare well with highly paid, egotistical NFL players.

Are you fricking kidding me?

GTFO. This belongs on the TD classics thread, but only because of how often it's brought up.

Since Saban was a huge failure as a head coach in the NFL the only time he tried it, I don't see why people even speculate on this. Why in the hell would Jones or any other NFL owner even consider hiring him

Saban isn't an NFL coach

His style requires him to have better players than the other team

No way Saban would answer to anybody else in an organization

Why doesn't he just hire Les Miles? Afterall, Miles has a better winning percentage than Saban and is younger.

Saban will never, ever, ever go to the Cowboys. Never. Saban is about absolute power. He loves being in total control. He could never have it at Dallas. Jerry Jones is an Al Davis clone. He can't get out of his own way. Saban won't put up with that crap.

Plus.... Saban simply is not a NFL coach. Like it or not, he will be at Bama for at least 5 more years. He will be there until he gets burned out of coaching and needs a break.

It would take giving Saban controlling ownership of the team, make him GM, and Jerry Jones would have to leave the team alone for good. Saban has to be in complete control. That's why his teams are so good, one person and one set of standards governs his program. You don't have a 100 voices, you have one. He isn't going to give up his love of college football again to be relegated to listening and appealing a guy who can't give it up and let someone take control.

I would like to see what Saban could do at a place like Dallas where the money and drive is there. Jones loading p on defensive talent had me wondering if maybe he wasn'r looking at Saban. Maybe he could join the Arkansas boys Switzer and Johnson on the list of those who have won college NC's and Superbowls.
