Rivalry my arse. We looked like shite. We were sloppy and undiciplined. Mett looked like a deer in the headlights. If it wasn't for our defense, we would have been rolled last nite. We are using the same shitty playbook that has plagued us for years. Until we get a fricking offensive coordinator, we will continue to suck on offense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Auburn is still the same team, they just played inspired ball at their house, in a night game, against the #2 team in the nation, with the season on the line. The defensive game plan was to take advantage of Mett's inexperience, sell out to stop the run, and force Mett to beat the defense. There were 8, 9, 10 guys in the box for Auburn all freaking night. I don't care if you're 1995 Nebraska, 9 times out of 10 you are not going to get through that many guys running straight up the middle. Auburn's offense looked as anemic as ever. They didn't pass the century mark in total yards until mid-way through the 4th quarter. And the way Auburn played toward the end, it seemed to me they were just trying to keep the game close rather than win it outright.

You are one of the few non-participant fans that saw this game for exactly what it was.

The '09 Alabama team had some ugly games too. I wouldn't read a whole lot into this

Auburn improving, especially on defense.

y'all have a damn legit defense. they just needed LSU comin' to town and an incredible fan showing to get. you really should thank us for helping them focus. your offnse needs surgery, but then again, so does ours.

against the #2 team in the nation,

that's an insult, whether you meant it or not. LSU and Auburn have played each other for friggin' decades; we were not the #2 team coming to JH, WE WERE LSU COMING TO JH. there is a past and frankly that game was a hell of a lot more important than any bama game for about 15 yrs.

Matchups brah. AU's DEs powned LEUs OTs. Sacked, forced fumbles, required two RBs to stay in to chip/dt. Loss of Faulk looks like it hurts. AU got some breaks to keep it close, LSU failed to capitalize.

So, a little of both to your questions. AU is better, LSU has to improve.

We suck. You have nothing to worry about. Everyone, go ahead and mark the LSU game as a W on your lists. We are not who you/we thought you were.

Thank you and carry on.

The funny thing is that many on this board sit here and scream about how tough the SEC is and all road games are battles....

then when it happens that way everyone wants to point fingers about how one team didnt win the way they should have and tear them down....what a fricking joke some folks are

Sums it up perfectly and I've been saying the same thing. People want us to be recognized as the best football conference, but when an underdog SEC team fights hard at home against a top SEC then the top team is overrated and whatnot. Pick a side and stick with it.

LSU just had a hiccup. Tough atmosphere at night, the OL having a hard time making adjustments and containing Lemonier and Mett showing that he's still green. LSU is still LSU.
