I thank and respect Saban. But he's at a school that we have to play yearly so frick him.
Don't get why Bama fans think LSU fans should feel otherwise.
and here is a fact for all of you. Watch the Saints after two games without Sean Payton. If you think that talent alone is all that is needed well you are a maroon. Les is a Top 2 coach pretty much and any "fanbase" other than Bama that says they wouldn't take Les is a fool

GTFO, the talent on hand when saban got there wasn't even close to the talent miles inherited. Everyone knows it you just enjoy being a contrarian. Sure LSU has always had talent, but miles inherited a team that was talented 3 deep across the board. Y'all hate admitting what saban did for Lsu. The best players in louisiana in the 90's were going all over the place, FSU-Miami- Notre dame etc. Saban got there and put a fence around the state and made Lsu a national brand. Maybe miles could have done the same, who knows..but I think there are a lot of coaches that could have gotten the Lsu job when saban left and be doing just as well as Les is doing
Your partially correct about SABAN bringing us to elite powerhouse status but your not completly factual with that comment. It's true what you said about us losing players left and right out of state until 1995. That was a landmark year for the Tigers when Dinardo got here and kept Kevin Faulk in the state.
After this, Dinardo brought in a NSD event every year and began KEEPING the best players in state. Don't believe me? Check the recruiting class of the mid to late 90's and check how much talent was Dinardo's when SABAN won his first SEC Champ in 01. Dinardo missed a couple elite players, but hardly any, hell Miles still can't quite keep everybody in state.
Yes, SABAN did take us to another level, but he was given alot more then BAMA fans would like to admit when he got to LSU because it doesn't fit the complete narrative.

A game won by 3 points (they both were) can be decided on one or 2 plays. Obviously no one got "out coached" in a 3 point game between equal teams.

Yeah, that Florida or the Georgia job with all that talent sucks!

it damn sure wasn't the talent that resulted in that record. why do you think dinardo got canned? ever heard of lou tepper? teams get demoralized and mail it in. look what arkansas has done the last 2 games. i know you worship saban as a god and that is your right; but you really aren't knowedgable about LSU football. you just assume we were garbage before saban arrived. i have been watching LSU football for 50 frickin' years
Here's a fun fact people forget, After Dinardo was canned for going 2-8 and losing to Houston in 99. Guess what interim coach Hall Hunter did against one of Arkansas better teams of the 90's and ranked #17? Whooped their arse 35-10. Your right though, they wern't stacked with talent and shitty coaches that year.

Half of you act like you don't know what the word more means. I said he inherited more and the Lsu fans got their panties in a wad. Saban had josh reed so boom! Yea whoopty fricking do. Les miles inherited a better team than nick saban. That's what I said, that's what the truth is, like it or not
2008 #1 Alabama #11 LSU
2009 #1 Alabama #2 LSU
2010 #5 Alabama #6 LSU
2011 #1 Alabama #6 LSU
2012 #1 Alabama #18 LSU
Awww...the #1 recruiting ranking T-shirts from the past few years scream less talented teams? And yet, Saban vs Miles = 3-3. Let's ignore the facts and say Miles is just a lucky bum...maybe it's in the grass he eats.

so recruiting rankings matter or they do not, which is it? An hour ago it was base talent off a players college career and now you're telling me their high school career is the indicator. Recruiting rankings are a crap shoot by men that would be professional scouts if they were great at it. They're employed because people in the south love to follow recruiting, myself included.
Miles inherited more talent than saban. That's my only point. No other motive, that's just my only point. I've said in this very thread he's a great coach, I just pointed out he inherited more talent. I won't waiver from that so if you think you can convince me otherwise give it your best shot spraky.
Also, if you're trying to prove me wrong with recruiting rankings then the only ones you need to look at are LSU's from 1996-2006

I said that. You are consistently taking different people's arguments and attributing them to the wrong person while you act like the person you are responding to is being inconsistent. Please stop doing that. I realize like 9 people have rushed to correct your fabrications, but it makes you look dishonest when you do that.

You keep saying that as if they played each other with the same set of players all the 6 years!

I understand. I just don't like it when people say well YOU just said X so you are a LIAR!!!
To clean it up, my point was the Saban Miles talent thing is over blown because Saban inherited many players from Dinardo who were some of the best to ever play wearing the purple and gold. Their records still hold up today in the Saban talent new normal that you posit. So Saban doesn't have the market cornered on finding talent.

Saban sure lost a lot of games here at LSU that he should have slam dunked & few more on the last play of the game. I thought I read somewhere..not on the rant..that his record in games decided by 7 points or more was not that good? And that is where great coaches should shine. But as an old timer, I am biased. Why don't we bring in the Miami media for their comments??

I think Saban is exponentially better at alabama than he was at lsu. Just my opinion. He was great at Lsu but I think he's even better at bama. Coaches should progress to

I agree and that's what is impressive about Miles' record against him.

This is my point (and has been for the past hour) you tell me if you agree or disagree. Lsu 1-105 when les miles arrived >> Lsu 1-105 when nick saban arrived?
That's what I and websters define as inheriting.
That's not a knock on anyone or a compliment to anyone, it's just pointing something out. Les Miles has a crystal football. Gene Chizik and Larry coker are the only bad coaches with one of those

far better coach now than he was then
just a fact. and he wasn't near "bad" here so don't take it the wrong way
but clearly he learned from his past mistakes
