Coaching: Alabama
QB: Alabama
RB: LSU
WR/TE: Alabama
OLine: LSU
DLine: LSU
LB: Alabama
DB: Alabama
ST: LSU
Overall edge? PUSH.
Thoughts?
The SECR is really boring right now. Thought I would get some discussion going.

You're not kidding. And the quality of new posters (not singling out aTm or Mizzou either) has been horrendous lately too.

ETA: As far as the thread topic is concerned, we may as well be whipping our 'units' out and comparing them at this point in the season.

Looking at it, I think both teams are more talented and even more evenly matched than last year, if thats even possible.

Way to mix it up with another LSU-Bama thread

Well, McCarron has been sacked 8 times this year so far and LSU is blowing their opponents 4-5 yards off the ball every play, so, I went with LSU.
It could change, of course.

Honestly, there really have not been that many. And, there really isn't that much to discuss.
Has SEC football gotten boring? Have Alabama and LSU ruined it for everyone else? Hmmm.

I think it might actually be that the SECr in general is in a rut.

I think that DB might be a push too...both are really good units.

to be fair, we dominated UM's Oline, and Mett got sacked a few times by NT. Also, yeah, McCarron got sacked 6 times last week, but he also threw 4 TD passes, so our protection was not THAT bad. It just wasnt great.

As things stand right now, this list looks pretty correct.

Yes, that is what I was going for: As things stand right now.
I imagine that Alabama's OLine willl get better and we will see more from Mett and LSU's WR's as the season goes on, so there might be some flipping of rankings.
But, I imagine that the overall analysis will be even right up until November 3rd. With the game being in Tiger Stadium, I will give LSU the edge, but only because of home field advantage. It could go either way.
Man, how long are these two teams going to be head and shoulders better than the rest of college football? It is kind of crazy, really.

Who knows how long it will last? All signs point to at least 2 more guaranteed years of LSU/Bama dominance, but life and college football have a nasty habit of pulling the rug out from under us right when we're getting comfortable, so I won't speculate beyond that.
I do hope it lasts much longer though, as LSU is the only rival I have to admit I actually respect (hopefully the feelings are mutual, despite the massive number of knuckleheads in both fanbases who take it beyond football).
I figure a lot of (non-Bama/LSU) people will disagree, but I think it's good for the sport as a whole to be able to watch two such ridiculously talented teams regularly match up against each other.

Maybe head coach... but LSU has much better assistants.

Agreed..both teams are damn good but i think eventually the noise gets to mccarron and LSU pulls out a 3 point win over the Tide
