A desire of Auburn was to have a medical school, this is a positive for the State and Auburn.

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama -- The Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine, a medical school affiliated with Virginia Tech University, will open a satellite campus in the Auburn Research Park, the medical school and Auburn University announced this morning.
The medical school and Auburn will collaborate on biomedical research and health care projects, and medical school faculty will have access to Auburn facilities.

Hooray that means we'll have even more construction on/around campus!

ETA: Auburn Research Park is a perfect spot.. construction won't be too bad.

D.O. school, not med school. I'm sure many people have already mentioned this fact though.

It's perfect for auburn. A cult school teaching cult medicine.

These idiots will go nuts trying to convince people that "basically" a DO is the same as an MD.

It's not, a DO is a glorified chiropractor.

I see this and I see construction jobs, supply orders, jobs. Good for Auburn. Don't understand the bashing. You can choose who your doc is, well at least for another 4 months anyway.

When I first read this, I thought "osteopathic medicine is bullshite." but then I know people who have been helped by alternative treatments including chiropractic medicinal treatments that WORKED for them.

I myself have had issues completely FIXED by acupuncture and Chinese herb treatments. This was for diabetic neuropathy and it damn well worked when western medicine did not. (I did not stop seeing my regular doctor. I just added a Chinese acupuncturist as a specialist within my treatment team.)

I think that there is an incomplete body of knowledge on what works on the body. I am willing to respect anything that WORKS.
