This guys is just picking on Bama..

KC Paper...

It’s a Wednesday in the Southeastern Conference, nothing all that out of the ordinary around here, but believe it: A convicted killer is sitting in the corridor of a hotel, screaming at a media personality and, really, just shredding the guy’s ego right in front of anyone who can’t help but look toward the booming voice in the center of the hall.

The middle-aged man in the red shirt goes by “Legend,” and, well, as legend has it, he once served a prison sentence for murder.
-------------------------

In January 2011, a man called into Finebaum’s show. Al from Dadeville, he called himself. He was an Alabama resident who lived a half-hour’s drive from Auburn, Ala.

----------------------------
One time, he says, Alabama lost a game to Arkansas, and a man was so despondent over the loss and the fact that he couldn’t find his car keys that, well, he shot his son. Fights break out over situations much less serious than that, and even now, as Finebaum tells the stories, there’s a group of fans angling for position for an autograph or a glimpse of SEC coaches and players.

“This is Southeastern Conference football,” Stallings says.

Inaccurate. The son came in to the living room and asked his dad if he could borrow the car. The dad was so pissed off by the loss and the request that he put a gun to his son's head. Had the son not moved out of the way, he would have had his brains blown out because the father fired the gun mere moments after the son exited the line of fire.

Yup. By the way, your avi made me chuckle. Even though I am not exactly fond of Mr. Updyke.

I wouldn't waste much time reading the KC Star. Just a bunch of KU homers still butthurt about Mizzou leaving them in the dust.

I didn't read into it that he was bashing Alabama or the SEC. He didn't inject much opinion - only wrote about certain traditions and certain recent incidences of fanaticism gone over board - which were all, for the most part, true.

The fandom here is insane.

Please tell me that's not true. If it is I weep for humanity.

I thought it was the Tennessee game. The triple overtime loss.

I feel like "Michael Bolton" in Office Space. I should probably change my handle, but I had this name for years before that 'no talent asshat' ruined it.

The comments on the story are hysterical. The MU/KU rivalry continues on...

Yes. And what a glowing picture they've painted of the "passionate" SEC fan. The antlers are small time compared to looting, poisoning, animal abuse, parking lot shootings and the like. Not only will you continue to never win anything athletically , even your crown as "most arrogant and classless fanbase" looks like it will be threatened. I will say this. I'm pretty sure MU fan can read and write - which gives him a leg up on the rest of the SEC.

I saw Legend pounding beers right outside the BDS gates just before the 1st LSU game last year. He gave me one. True story.

Well at least they did not bring up the Bama fan who shot and killed the LSU couple... Or the T-bagger or the Bama Fan who was upset and ran over the S.Carolina Fan...

Sounds like the writer is mad about Saban and Bama running things right now. Yeah Bama has some crazy fans but every team and sport has them to some extent. If you look at KU basketball, KC Chiefs or KU football..."Well maybe not KU football". I bet anyone can find something on the web that a lunatic fan of these sports has done...That being said, "Roll Tide"...
