Today, more than 50 years after Faurot hung up his whistle, Missouri is manfully taking his vision to the next level.

These are two great additions to the SEC. Personally, I liked the SEC at 12, but those days are gone.

Welcome to the SEC aTm and Mizzou!

Yeah, Kramer started the ball rolling with expansion and a CCG bringing us here. I liked the old days also, but they ain't coming back.

So by 2014, LSU vs aTm on Thanksgiving? I knew there was talk about it, but didn't know it was confirmed.

Piggies blood must be boiling...

I can understand Arkansas being a bit upset, perhaps perceiving this as a shot at their program, but it's not. A&M has always been a more natural rival to LSU than anyone else to me. More so than UF or Ole Miss (back in the day).

All Arkansas fans need to ask themselves...If Texas was entering the SEC, would they rather play Texas or LSU on Thanksgiving weekend? I GUARANTEE that they'd rather play Texas, whether they'd admit it or not. I have nothing against Arkansas, it's a fun series, but they know and we LSU fans know that it's not the rivalry it is supposed to be. Nobody cares about the f'n boot...actually, the loser of the game should have to give it a home for a year, THEN it may mean something. Plus, I don't hate Arkansas.

aTm has been a big rival from the get-go. I couldn't be happier playing them every year. Plus, I'd rather play aTm in College Station in November than in September. Been to a few LSU - aTm games in College Station in Sept, and it's hot as hell as a mf'er in that stadium. I'm talking people being brought out on stretchers hot.

I hadn't thought of it that way but you're right. If UT came in there would probably be universal clamoring for UT to replace LSU Thanksgiving. Friggin turncoat Hogs

I would go back to 10 or 12. I do not see the value of adding TAMU or Missouri. TAMU fits well and will be very good. Missouri is a Yankee school and provides very little.

The SEC network is the key, but not sure how that will sell in Texas and Missouri.

Rumor I heard is that there will be an A&M-LSU home and home on Thanksgiving but to please Arkansas, the Aggies will need to play the Hogs in Jerry World.

Aggies don't want that (and the $300 tickets) but Arkansas wants the game in Arlington (Dallas) for recruiting purposes. A&M wants a home and home for the Arkansas game.

Stand by, it seems that both sides are playing hardball.

Ya that's been his talking point for the last weekl. I'm sure he's visited our "Yankee" school and state many times to give us this great insight.

I like the boot.

I'm also excited as frick about a&m coming over to the sec. I'm probably going to school there and it'll give me an excuse to go to more lsu games in various sports. Also I plan on running track there so it'll give me an opportunity to compete against the best in the NCAA.

I don't mind the mizzou addition but I jut can't get that excited about it. Don't really know much about them.

it doesn't have to sell. all it has to do is be packaged with other channels and the sec gets paid. it's a real fallacy of cable tv, imo. ad revenue will suffer if not popular but cable bucks will still zoom just because its offered.

That dude was smarter than anyone in the CFB world at the time and no one could see it.....I bet the Big 8, SWC, Big 10, etc wish today that they could go back to the early 90's LOL.

For a often lurker, periodic poster who gets tired of several hog fans on here constantly talking shite and bringing most of the aingst we get on this board on themselves - I appreciate with you post and agree. It sucks for the Hogs because we like the exposure and the big time game that has, of late, had SEC and national implications. I guess most of us given our history with the SWC figure ourselves to be a bigger rival to aTm than LSU, so i guess in the end we 'don't get it' as it relates to LSU vs. Texas A&M. That said, it looks like we'll get pushed out and insert the Ags - and that sucks - but it sucks even more that we're replacing a tier 1 SEC program with arguably one of the 3-4 shittiest SEC schools/football programs. No one will give a damn about that game. Most of all us - no one will be in Fayetteville on Thxgiving weekend to see the Hogs beat up on Mizzou.

LMAO, holy sh#t Arky fans are delusional.

Last 10 years:

Arky: 79-48, 2 division titles, 7 bowl games, 3 seasons of 10+ wins (2 of those seasons were under a coach that is gone)

Mizzou: 81-47, 3 division titles, 8 bowl games, 3 seasons of 10+ wins all under the same coaching staff

At first I assumed it was a big inside joke that the Arky fans were so cocky, but it is scary that you stupid f#cks actually think you are a big-time program.
