So long to those riveting matchups with ISU, Kansas, Okie, and Texas. Ta-ta to all of that LHN angst. Buh-bye Big XII - II - II + II...

I wish we could un-invite them. Not sure it was the financial increase we had hoped for. It will help them, but I do not see it helping us. July 1, sad day for the SEC, as we now replace games against the Floridas, Tennessees, etc. With games against TAMU.

We are actually independent today. But would rather be in the SEC than indy, so tomorrow.......Here's Texas A&M! (you have to visualize Jack in the Shining at he door holding a collie)

I know there is a lot of false bravado from SEC fans on this site but this is a nice boost for the SEC. We add a top 3 state in recruiting and the St. Louis market. Both programs are so much more a geographical fit than all of these other more desperate expansion attempts around the country. We add solid football, basketball and baseball programs. A&M adds a strong overall athletics program and a willingness to put a bunch more money into it.
The SEC knows that the era of the superconference is here and has gone about expanding the right way.

Nothing at all sad about Texas Aggie Independence Day.

The Big 12 announced it has reached an agreement with Texas A&M University regarding its withdrawal from the Conference effective June 30, 2012. The agreement has been approved by Texas A&M and by the governing boards of the Big 12's eight continuing member institutions.

Allin2010, the financial increase comes with the SEC Network, which is in negotiations between Slive and ESPN right now. Be patient.

the only problem with this move for the Aggies is that it should have happened in 1990.

I celebrated last night with a few alabama slammers. Anyone else know any SEC themed shots?
