Just got back in from my first road trip to Omaha and I have to say I was completely blown away by the experience. I have never in my life had more fun at baseball games than I did at the USC-Arky rematch on Friday and 2 championship games. That place blows any college baseball environment out of the water IMO and that includes Ole Miss and State.

If you are able, I would HIGHLY recommend saving up and going next year. I can only hope that Ole Miss makes it out there with me one of these years.

I tried really hard to go last year but just couldn't swing it. I'm definitely going to try in the next few years, hopefully when we are back in Omaha

You should have worn LSU colors. You would not have had to buy a drink all wkend.

This made me laugh. Quality post though. I hope to make it Out there in the next few years. Haven't had the opportunity to go the last three years.

My wife, kids and in-laws went to Saturday's game. I skipped the trip for two reasons. First, I had a golf scramble that weekend (which we won). Second, not everyone likes to hear all that hog callin.

But, everyone said it was a fantastic trip. So, when LSU returns, I'm leading the convoy up there again to experience it for myself.

Word. Its a very cool, unique college atmosphere.

I went to the first two games Arkansas played, so I am still undefeated at TD Ameritrade.

Why? Because he didn't mention South Carolina?

I also made my first trip to the CWS. I had my LSU gear on everyday and had a blast.
Some thoughts:

-Florida and South Carolina had the hottest women.

-Arkansas brought the most fans.

-Arizona and UCLA did not bring many fans. Expected.

-It was freaking hot.

- I was able to go to Rosenblatt Stadium. I walked the bases, stood in the batter box, stood on the pitcher mound, sat in the dugouts, and walked the outfield fences imagining some of LSU's great homeruns. It was freaking awesome. Even brought a glove + ball and played catch on the field.

-The outfield fences at TD Ameritrade are to far back and the ball does not carry well at all.

-Had about 20 different people tell me they wish LSU was there. One was a guy who owned a bar and said his buisness will suffer b/c LSU is not playing.

-Be prepared to stand in the GA line for hours if you want a seat for a good game. Once on the inside people are always holding empty seats for others. It's frustrating. GA has the best atmosphere though. Just pay the extra money and upgrade your tickets.

-One Arkansas fan tried to talk smack but it was weak. Despite this I was still pulling for Arky and USC.

-Bar scene was descent downtown and would make for some great LSU parties in the future. Good places to eat downtown.

Great college baseball atmosphere. Had a great time and I would go again even if LSU does not make it.

I went in '03. BY FAR the most fun I've ever had at a baseball game.

I went years ago and loved it.

I would also advise going watch an SEC football championship game one year.

I think he's saying its funny because TD Ameritrade Park is like 3 times the size of the all-time record crowds at even the best SEC parks. Its not really even a comparison. The stadium is huge for college baseball.

I went just for the first weekend and saw USC and UF, it was incredible. I had to be back on Monday, but would have loved to have stayed.

I was very impressed at the number of LSU fans

Arky and SC were definitely the most represented. SC has terrific local support.

My first time was when we beat Texas. Locals stop you on the street to shake hands; wave at you while driving..Build in an extra 30 min. at dinner cuz locals will be stopping by your table to welcome you to Omaha. Anytime LSU makes it back, I'm there. Put it on your bucket list.
