Is it me but it seems like after the BCS National championship every topic has been a means to make sure either A) a team who deoesn't win their conference play in the National championship or B) After upteen years of playing permanent out regional conference games, teams will have the option to opt out of the game Ala LSU/Florida comes to mindor C) Lets move to a power conference even if it doesn't make sense regionally. Its like now everyone has started making long term plans to ensure that their team gets a shot at the BCS game. I'm telling you if Alabama didnt win the National championship, all of this would be talk. But now it like almost everyone from the Big Ten to other SEC teams are whining. I remember the days when Tennesee was kicking are teeth in every Oct. You didnt here Alabama saying we need Tennessee off the schedule or griping about it. God Bless them but non of the Mississippi Schools or Kentucky or Vandy have ever complained to my knowledge. But everyone who has is fearful that their chances of playing for the big one can be dashed is going to gripe. There seems to rumbling of Alabama in some type of topic or conversation pertaining to some of these topics about playoff formats and coaching methods etc.

CLM would be proud of this rambling post.
Is there an abridged version?

I guessing that was something about the football universe revolving around Tuscaloosa?

Top teams are always a target. Miami, USC, ND, UT, Bama, etc., nothing new.

Not after...before. Nationally, the fan perspective of this matchup was negative.

A) a team who deoesn't win their conference play in the National championship

A Delaney proposal, most likely being qualified with a top 6 caveat. (In other words UA still makes playoff with that scenario in 2011)
quote:

B) After upteen years of playing permanent out regional conference games, teams will have the option to opt out of the game Ala LSU/Florida comes to mind

Not related to BCS CG in any sense whatsoever. related to UA/UT and UGA/AU primarily. This is a scheduling issue. The option for 6-1-1 or 6-2 is apparently on table though, yes.
quote:

I'm telling you if Alabama didnt win the National championship,

Patently false. In fact, if LSU won it would have been worse. "They already beat that team, should have played OSU, yada yada."

The rest of post is indiscernible.

You would get better responses if you separated your wall of text

At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Yep, definitely all because of Alabama.

Word on the street is that North Korea was on the verge of dismantling their nuclear weapons program, - but then Alabama had to go and win the BCS.

It's un-American is what it is.

The "Tide Ripple Effect"

I thought this thread was gonna be about how after our football team has enjoyed much success as of late it had affected our other sports in a positive way since we just enjoyed another gymnastics championship (not really a good example since its been good since before football got good again) and a ladies golf championship as well. Not to mention the very good possibility of our softball and mens golf teams pulling it off as well.

But then I read the first line and lost interest when I saw the ginormous wall of text following it.

ETA: Almost forgot

Yes, it is you.

The world does not revolve around Alabama football, contrary to what you believe.

This should have been dealt with by the BCS over a decade ago when Nebraska got in the game. A rematch was rejected in 2006 when it was Ohio St. and Michigan, although a great case could have been made for one. But, the mentality was, "That game has been played - let's give another team a shot." That should have been the mentality this year, but since it was not, I think that almost everyone in the country wants to avoid this happening again - except for those in the SEC.

It works to our benefit now, but it might not in 5-10 years. These things go in cycles.

As for the rest of your post, I have no idea what you are talking about.

Honestly, no one cares about Alabama. We are just tired of your entitlement complex making things more difficult for the rest of us, so we want to adjust things. The reason that Alabama is not Texas is because this is the SEC, not the Big 12, and the other schools aren't just going to roll over while Alabama tries to asserts its will. We are just fine without you - would prefer it, actually.

Have a great day.

I can agree with this part. The rest is pretty egocentric
