Two articles today about Mike Alden's take on his first SEC meetings. He is highly complimentary of the SEC and talks about how pleased we are to be here.
St. Louis Post Dispatch article
Kansas City Star article
The nasty comments from kansas fans are pretty funny.

Mizzou sports fans, football fans especially, is going to love being in the SEC. I understand there are other big teams out there, but the passion that SEC fans have, are unmatched in college football, imo. I'm so ready for August 30th and for SEC football to start.

As opposed to how his old conference worked...
Texas AD: "Ok everyone, lets all open our pamphlets and I will begin to tell you how things are going to happen this year."

Nah. Everyone just does what Alabama says to, without all the brashness Texas uses.

Two good articles, welcome to the sunny south. As Alden said, we do still intend to beat your brains in when the opportunity arises but if you stick around after the beating we will also feed you before you head home.

And part of the reason relates to the number of strong teams in the SEC: Alabama, LSU, Florida, Auburn, UGA and Tennessee have each won one or more SECC's during the BCS era. Meanwhile in the Big 12, it's either OU or Texas, USC or Oregon in the Pac 10 and in the ACC it's usually VT. I will say that the Big 10 is pretty balanced with Ohio St., Michigan, Wisconsin and Michigan St. often winning or sharing championships.
