The little roundhouse next to Gorgas library was one of a handful of structures on the UA campus that survived the little spat between the States. The story goes that two UA students, who were cadets, tricked some Union soldiers into approaching there with the promise of whiskey. They were shot, and their ghost can be seen looking for the promised whiskey...
Oh, and virgins can be found on the UA campus. Lawlzers.

Well, I go to North Alabama. There, we're all sidewalk Bama fans.

There are a series of tunnels under LSU. There are a lot of threads on the OT about this and if you go there have an LSU friend show them to you.

It is rumored that if you ever step on the 1900 class on Senior Walk you will never graduate from the University of Arkansas because all the members of that class died unnatural deaths. They actually died naturally.
ETA: I've never walked on it, I need all the help I can get

Interesting. I might have to check this out next time I come to Baton Rouge. Never knew about that.

I think it is fascinating that the remnants of the foundation of the old library that was burned sits at the base of the stairs in front of Gorgas.
Apparently there is a time capsule buried in that area.

There are meth labs in all the buildings at Mizzou. It's not a really a university at all, just a massive distributing operation.

Do you really attend UNA or are you trying to make a comment about something? If the former, lots of history in that town/campus. If the latter, tread carefully to avoid looking like a tard.

A&M's Cannon
is a working piece of WWI Artillery. It was abandoned in the 30s in an overgrown ditch and rediscovered in the 1970s, refurbished, and used to this day.
Oh, and there are tunnels on almost every modern University Campus. That's where all the steam pipes, water pipes, telecom, etc. are run, allowing for easy maintenance.

We have a clock tower here on campus at A&M called Albritton Tower. Legend has it that the roman numeral for "4" is rendered as "IIII" rather than "IV" because "IV" just looks too damn much like t.u., which of course is shorthand for Texas.
It's not true, but it's a great tidbit to tell visitors.

Glory holes in the bathroom at Coates hall.
Tunnels
The Huey P long Field house is one of the most unique buildings on campus. It has a rooftop pool. Well It WAS one of the most unique. We let go to hell and now it's looks like crap.

Here's an interesting fact about the SEC I heard the other day. Only 30 U.S. universities are designated land, sea, and space grant institutions, and with the addition of TAMU, the SEC now has three, the other two being Auburn and LSU.

Ole Miss has some of those too. They are kind of neat. Supposedly James Meredith used these a couple times to get from one building to the next. Don't know how true that is.

I'll be sure to but as long as there are no snakes, I'm good.

What were they used for?

Spoofer's stone is a large rock that was being hauled by an team of animals to be used in the foundation of Old Main when it fell off the cart. It was too heavy so they just left it there. It later was used as the halfway point between men's and women's dorms where couples would meet at night because fraternization between the sexes was forbidden. People began proposing and chipping off pieces of the stone. I also heard Oklahoma stole it from us once a long time ago??
