Very sad. UT sent out a memo asking that the rock not be repainted for a week to honor the students, but from what I've heard this was just a former UT student and sidewalk UK fan who lives in the area. No way he could have known.
But it certainly takes a little fun out of a good natured prank.

Pretty douche move. Even without the memorial painting, it's pretty weak to paint our rock after winning a NC. I would definitely be too hungover to give a shite.

I was pretty upset by this. I go to school at UT and was friends with one of the guys that passed.

I'm not trying to flame but it would seem like they would have found a better spot for a memorial than painting it on a big rock?

I'm not trying to be an arse and your right I don't go to UT and I therefore do not know your local campus traditions other than then Vol walk. I'm was just thinking that if people paint over the rock all the time maybe they should have chose a better spot for the memorial. I'm sorry that you lost your friend. I can understand how it would be viewed as disrespectful.
