Went to Miss. St.'s campus yesterday - Beautiful

Haven't been there in over 10 years. They have about 10 new buildings, at least, that must have collectively cost somewhere in the 10's of millions of dollars. Landscaping was beautiful, it was neat, clean, pictureresque, and looked much better than Alabama, Auburn, or LSU on my last visits there. I know that State is up to 20,000 students and Starkville is much improved as well. I was really impressed. Everyone banging on State for it's campus needs to visit there again. It is much better than it was. They were playing Arkansas in basketball at Humphrey Coliseum and there were people all over campus, too.

Laugh all you want. I know what I saw. I am not saying that those schools don't have beautiful campuses, but there was something about State's campus yesterday that was really striking. Maybe it was just that it was the very beginning of Spring and it was also a nice day. I don't know. I was just really impressed.

And I know what I've seen. I have been to Starkville enough times to know it doesn't compare to campuses of LSU, Alabama, or even Auburn.

Well, it did look better yesterday. Admittedly, I have been so conditioned by the other fans of the SEC to think of State's campus as a dump, that maybe it was my surprise that affected me. It is much different that when I was last there in 2000.

At least State has a more attractive campus than Arkansas or South Carolina.
