Bo Jackson, lots of respect.

Bo Bikes Bama

quote:

On Tuesday, April 24th - Saturday, April 28th, 2012, sports legend Bo Jackson will bike 300 miles through the tornado ravaged communities of Alabama. Bo is riding his bike to raise $1 million for the Governor's Emergency Relief Fund, which was established to help Alabamians with unmet recovery needs that unfolded in the wake of the deadly tornado outbreak across the state in April 2011.

He will start in Henagar and finish in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He will be coming through my hometown, Guntersville. That's 300 miles.

60 miles a day. I never get on the bikes at the gym, so I'm not sure how hard this would be. I'm guessing a lot more than I could ever do though.

He's been much more involved at Auburn since Chizik was brought in. Not sure if he and Tubs didn't get along or what, but you never heard of him having much to do with Auburn pre-2009.

Not only that, but around North Alabama, there are a lot of mountains. To get to Guntersville State Park, he will have to go down a mountain, and then up another mountain, then back down another mountain to get to the city of Guntersville, then back up another mountain to get to Arab and then Cullman.

He will have other mountains in the trip.

4/24: Henagar --> Lake Guntersville State Park
4/25: Lake Guntersville State Park --> Cullman
4/26: Cullman --> Jasper
4/27: Jasper --> Bessemer
4/28: Bessemer --> Tuscaloosa

Neither Tiny Terry nor Tommy Tee cotton'd much to Coach Dye's players.

Because they'd tell him that the ability to coach and recruit were more important in a staff than the ability to make good BBQ?

I refuse to believe Bo Jackson is anything but upstanding. Just can't bring myself to do it.
