Campbell started against UGA in 2002 when Petrino was OC. From what I remember, he had a pretty good year.

Haven't read the whole thread but I'd say UGA with Mark Richt is pretty good too.

Not exactly, but ya never know.

Stubborn fricks like us that have a bit of a cocky tude tend to find each other and throw down, usually just for the fun of it.

For the record anything that is pre B.P. or Before Petrino is completely irrelevant to the current status of our program.

The first second after the clock on the scoreboard at the 2008 Cotton Bowl rolled to 00:00 was the first moment of rebirth of the Arkansas Razorback football program. Nothing before that time carries weight in conversations like these.

Understand that the Arkansas program is taking your seats at the table. We're hungry and we've got a big appetite and a chip on our shoulder.

For that argument to hold, you actually have to have players PLAYING quarterback in the pros.

Alabama - Greg McElroy
Arkansas - none (don't think Mallett is playing)
Auburn - Cam Newton, Jason Campbell
Florida - Tim Tebow, Rex Grossman
Georgia - Matt Stafford
Kentucky - none
LSU - Matt Flynn
Mississippi State - none
Missouri - Blaine Gabbert
Ole Miss - Eli Manning
South Carolina - none
Tennessee - Peyton Manning
Texas A&M - none (Ryan Tannehill next season)
Vanderbilt - Jay Cutler

Honestly the school has nothing to do with it. This question is all about the coaching staffs and their ability to develop a college QB into a pro prospect. Claiming Peyton Manning from Tennessee as a NFL QB means nothing regarding Derek Dooley and the current Tenner program.

It's David Cutcliffe, the reason Eli was at Ole Miss.

The scoreboard should be based off who the coaching staffs helped become an elite QB. Cam doesn't count because you can't coach 6-6 250 with speed, you can coach around it and develop game plans to cater to his skill set to put him in an opportunity to be successful.

I'm not saying Tennessee is in any way tops. It's hard to pass any judgement on Dooley when he's had 1 QB through his tenure here. If Bray can learn to go through his progressions against the big boys, Dooley could be batting 100%. But I think that's a testament to Bray's arm and Chaney (Brees's college coach) than Dooley.

And before we get to Bray is overrated, he was a true sophomore last year with a lot going against him (one legit target once JH went down, and before that, a center that couldn't get him the ball...and got destroyed by UF's D-Line). Him not being able to read progressions is not uncommon for a true soph.

I don't know if we're the best place for a QB recruit nationally, but I think we'd be the best offense for a recruit to prepare for the NFL. I think we've done a really good job of emulating what a lot of teams are doing these days, whereas LSU/Bama are very run-heavy. I think most kids thinking about their future NFL prospects would agree that they'd get more opportunities to throw/make reads playing for Arkansas. That's not to say other schools WON'T have great QB's too. Those QB's just won't have the same chances to show off their arms or decision making abilities.
