So I guess you're on the upswing now, huh? When are you gonna finally win an SEC championship?

Chances are good this upcoming season.

We should have won it in 2006, but alas we muffed it away.

Tennessee's winning ways left once they fired the man responsible for all their success and having a coach making their program a stepping stone school.

Ever heard of Johnny Majors, or Doug Dickey, or General Neyland.

I fail to see what the issue is with all this. OP says that Arkansas is looking for talent across the nation, much like what Tennessee did in the 90s, and the success is showing on the field.

What does having high ranked classes have to do with it? If the argument is that Tenn looked for blue chips across the nation and got them, then it supports the original poster's argument that Tenn was unable to get blue chip recruits in their own state.

Sounds more like people want to pile on for Arkansas fans beating their chest about getting talent that won't win them a national recruiting championship. Call me when that banner goes up.

Funny how he didn't list the number of 10 win seasons for the more traditionally strong teams in the SEC (Bama,Tennessee).

31 ten-win seasons for Alabama...

19 ten-win seasons for Tennessee...

Seems like it's this way every year for Arky, it just never comes to fruition.

Yes, but he man who brought you your most recent division title, most recent SEC title, most recent BCS bowl win, most recent BCSMNC win, was.

Then the handpicked replacement used you for a year before taking a destination job.

At least Dooley has been nice enough to stick it out and try to build something more than using it the school as a stepping stone.

Show me since the SEC we've been #12 and #5 in the nation at years end?

We are doing it in the hardest division in the hardest league in history. It shows we are back. Do you honestly think LSU, Auburn or Alabama wants Arkansas anywhere near the top 15, no.

From 1977-2007 we had 2 coaches. From 2008-2011 we have had 3.

The time from 2008-2011 could be described as AN ANOMALY!

All with Nutt as a coach and gaps of Talent in certain positions. Again all those studs where the majority of Arkansas boys just as the 2010 and 2011 teams were.

We finally have a coach like we had in Broyles and Holtz. We are back and people will have to deal with us.

Yep, only one team had turnovers and there's no way Arky ever loses. They just beat themselves.

Why? You're the one trying who's to argue that Arky is on the upswing. I know where my program's place is in the SEC.

Congrats. Bama has won 2 championships in the hardest division on the hardest league, Arky hasn't.

Considering how Saban has Petrino's number, I don't think Bama is that worried about it.

Fine, don't. Arkansas is on an upswing it's pretty obvious.

Want to do the odds of that happening before Texas. Yeah, I would never take that Vegas bet ever. Congrats to Alabama the math doesn't lie, it's EXTREMELY hard to accomplish.

We are back and you could easily lose in Fayetteville this year so I wouldn't be so cocky. This isn't Arkansas being run by Captain Moron.

We could've lost there last time, but we didn't. Arky is the one who has to prove the can beat Bama with Petrino, not the other way around.

Also I think this thread was semi legit. It does seem like we are going after more of the tennessee model for our athletic program...dear god i hope it doesn't end with kiffen and dooley. I couldn't take those two as our coach back to back.
