Rumblings about a raise and contract extension too.

After seeing him and how happy he looked after the national championship game, I think he's at Bama until he retires.

He's now aware of this fact, and is leaving on signing day to go to the Dolphins.

He'll soon have been at Alabama longer than LSU. He was hired at LSU in November of 1999 and left in December of 2004. That's about five years and one month. He was hired at Alabama in January of 2007. It's not January 2012. Sometime around mid-Febuary he proves he loves us more.

The only way Saban will leave Alabama is if there is a major scandal and they get hammered with NCAA sanctions. Just read some of the quotes from this article. LINK Saban really seems at peace with himself and content to be at Alabama.

quote:

"I think winning two national championships in the last three years is pretty damn special," he said.

quote:

"I absolutely love this team," Saban said.

quote:

"This is a special team," he said.

Or these quotes.

quote:

"I just want you to know that the players that we have, the players we are recruiting to represent the University of Alabama in the future, will continue to build a team of champions," Saban said. "(They) will continue to represent the University of Alabama in a first-class way and will make each and every one of you proud of your association with the University of Alabama."

quote:

In similar ceremony after the 2009 national championship, Saban said the following: "I want everybody here to know this is not the end, this is the beginning."

LINK

Saban is not going anywhere.

I am far too afraid of jinxing this thing by saying stuff like I've seen so far in this thread...

I think Saban will pull a JoePa at Alabama...he'll coach in Tuscaloosa until he's 85 and will be forced out and drop dead two months later because he has nothing else to live for....or he goes to Texas once he gets bored of winning titles for the baggers.

IMO.

Did you not see Kraft at the BCS Game. Belacheck retires and Saban takes over the Pats. Just watch!

2017 is the exit date but it'll be interesting if Saban has five or six NCs by the end of 2017. If Saban wins seven NCs, he would undoubtedly go down as the best ever. Would he think about hanging on for a few more years to get that record or is he done after 2017 no matter what? I would love to find out.

It is catchy!

And it makes grouping Auburn and Alabama fans easier just by saying "barner/bagger".

Gump just doesn't do you guys justice.

I've never understood how Gump is really an insult. I mean, yeah the man was slow, but he also won a NC in college, received a Medal of Honor, and became rich as frick.
