I'm still not sold on Shepard being more than a overhyped recruit.

Me either, but having him back can only be a good thing. FWIW he did have four touchdown catches this year

Well he wasn't better than Lee or Jj or else he would have started this year we know that much.

So far i guess he has been a flop. I mean If you fans are crying for Lee over you in the national title game then you probably aren't gonna be the next Cammy Cam.

Hell, he didn't even beat out Murray two years ago. Just looked up his CC stats but who knows whether that'll translate into SEC wins.

I'd be willing to make this concession, so long as JJ is still your QB for these games.

I've based my analysis only on the facts we know to be true: Jefferson > Mettenberger

Your fact is a fallacy as Les Miles' self admitted greatest flaw is loyalty. No way he was gonna sit JJ short of what happened at Shady's.

...and he did not...

Ultimately, Chavis & Brad Wing helped cover for his stubborn ignorance. Until we ran into a team that we couldn't flip field on using defense and Special Teams.

At which point Miles was taught a very public lesson of what it means to be loyal to a fault. Let's hope he learns from it.

Mettenberger played in five games and completed eight of 11 passes for 92 yards and a touchdown. But he was described as "goofy" and "immature" by teammate Will Blackwell last month despite being in his third year out of high school.

Except this is not the case. Miles had an obsession with JJ and that is a fact. It was never an open competition.

LSU Spring:

Mettenberger: 5-of-8 86 yards and one touchdown.
Jefferson: 4-of-14 passes with an interception, two fumbles and two sacks.

Yet right after the game Les said JJ was his man.

***I don't know how good he will be because we have not seen him in action in a real SEC game. However, he way outplayed the starting quarterbacks in both the UGA and LSU spring games.

In the three times we have seen him play he is 19-of-29 for 328 yards and four touchdowns and zero interceptions.

No reason to think he is a bust from those numbers. Just caught behind the coaches favorite.
