I highly doubt that happens. The conference will do everything in its power to preserve Georgia/Auburn. And even if we stay at 8 conference games, why not just have 6 divisionals, 1 perm rival, and 1 rotating? Yeah, I know you would only play certain teams every like 15 years or something, but I just can't see getting rid of the oldest rivalry in the south simply so you can play some new team every 5 years.

Well, goodbye to the Deep South's Oldest Rivalry. It's been real Georgia. Glad I got to attend a game at y'alls stadium.

We need to go to 10 games. No one is going to miss not playing a scrub out of conference team. Either that or just play 6 games in division and count all other games as "out of conference" and teams can schedule whoever they want. Make it mandatory that they schedule at least 2 other teams out in the other division but those will not count toward division ranking. May be used as a tie breaker...

Need to stay at 8, with one permanent. Hell, for 60 yrs, some teams only met once a decade or so, if that. I can live with not playing Kentucky or Vandy for 12 yrs to keep Tennessee as our permanent.

Always an option. I'm just not sure if it would be the same.

Seen this coming a from a mile away. Same trick politicians use all the time.

Bama,UT and the others that voted against Mizzou because of the rival issue. SEC says rival will be preserved and Mizzou sent to East. Now they are in the conference, the SEC will do whatever they want.

I ******* ***** **** that ********* slive, he is nothing but a ***** who like to ****** or ****** if he can.

SEC expansion is the worse thing to ever happen to the SEC. I'm hoping somehow it can still work out but I'm not optimistic. CFB and CBB are the only sports I have left and now they're trying to screw up CFB.

Just kick Kentucky and Vandy out. And put the two Mississippi schools on notice to get their shite straight in football.

they need to go to fifteen teams

3 five team divisions play four in your div. rotate 3 and 2 in the other divisions home and home and in the third year you swap the 2/3 for home and home. you are guaranteed to play everyone every 3 years minimum.

two best records vie for champeenchip

Yep.

And people want a playoff where some shitty team will get hot/lucky like in the basketball tourney and we'll end up with a riveting championship game featuring a 13-0 Florida and a 12-1 Purdue or something like that.

UGA and UF voted no because they didnt want AU in the east. The rest except auburn didnt care. if it came to a vote again it would only be UT,UA,AU,UGA who would vote no for the not having rivals

We need Kentucky for basketball though, and Vandy showed promise this year in football.
