Question for Arkansas fans about the game last night.

First off congratulations on the win. Y'all look like a completely different team from last year.
Ok, on to my question. Over on the MSU board I got into a discussion with State posters who were upset with the loss.
They blamed Stansbury for the loss, I responded by saying Arksnsas shot great and played great defense and that y'all will beat a lot of teams at BWA this year.
Do you guys think Yall beat State due to Stsnsbury's coaching or due to Nobles having a career game and y'all having your highest scoring game of the year?
Props again on the win both Y'all and LSU are the most improved teams in the SEC.

A combo of all those things. Stans teams are NEVER good with full court presses. I think we win in the Hump against Arky, fwiw.
Arky is going to be good under Anderson, no doubt.

Arkansas was just the better team last night.
We wanted it more, out hustled MSU, and fed off a great crowd in one of the bigger home court advantages in the conference.
We played great all around, and Stansbury was clearly not ready for our pressure style, and your guards couldn't keep up with ours off the screens and picks.

I don't know if you can blame Stans totally for looking unprepared, as our team looks completely different than it did last year.
As for the venue, honestly the crowd was into it, but it also was only 60% full and virtually no student section.
Bottom line is MA is a helluva coach and in spite of the talent gap, we'll do that to a few more teams in Bud Walton this year.
I'm not sure what Stans could have done to prepare for that game. Your players looked skeered.

We'll have our ups and down this season because we're so young. Last night was clearly and up.
Turnovers differential was the difference.(we were +9). Which is what we're known for this year, we overcome rebounding disadvantage with defense and converting turnovers into points.
Mickelson also played great defense on Moultrie and Sidney down low. Had 4 more blocks last night.

It was the first true road environment for Us this season.

If we can win another one or two, we should have a killer crowd for Michigan 1/21. I'm ready to see Bud Walton back to the way it used to be.
12k is a nice loud crowd in the SEC. 20k rabid Razorback fans on a big game night will split your eardrums.

You do realize that y'all had a player with a career day too, right? Y'all scored your second highest point total of the season. Y'all shot 51% from the field and 80% from the line.
We won because our guards controlled the tempo, even when le Stans was trying to get your players to slow the game down. Your bigs are slow and lazy as frick and got into foul trouble/played badly because of it.

It did appear to me that Sidney was quick to say "frick it" and stop hustling.

Indeed, I'll be there. I believe the game is sold out, or close to being sold out.
All those big-time recruits visiting for that weekend will be there.

Sidney is a waste of talent IMHO. Dude is just flat out lazy and quits on plays, doesnt play D and always dragging arse up the floor. MSU fans have to be aggravated with the way hes turned out after all the hype that was built up on him...

Honestly it looked like State just was not ready for the tempo and looked out of shape compared to the hogs. I dont think it was anything Stansbury did or did not do, we just had an outstanding game for 94 feet and 40 minutes

This is an exciting time for those of us who are in our early 30s because we spent our childhood and teenage years watching the most exciting brand of basketball around, only to spend our entire 20s watching or shunning a complete shitfest.

I was really suprised that nobles played so well, hes been one of our worst shooters the past few weeks. If he can keep that up then id think last night wasnt a fluke...we have the talent to be pretty dangerous, especially at home. BJ young is going to be amazing

Ju Nobles came to play finally and Sidney is just Sidney.
Now that football is over, beware BWA!

State would be a better team without sidney.

I'd put most of the blame on Stans if I were an MSU fan.
That team wasn't prepared, and they looked out of shape.
Its really easy to shoot as well as we did when half our baskets were lay ups. Stans made no changes at halftime and we went on a 20-5 run to start.

Well with my limited knowledge of both teams here is what i figure happened.. Our style of play is tough for anyone who doesn't like to run. State's players are notoriously out of shape. We won because of conditioning.
