You can cite whatever you like. Im not gonna spend too much time trying to convince a LSU homer than Saban was right because you will never believe it. You have your opinion and I have mine. You are not going to convince me that Miles voted with integrity in 2007 either. Both did what was best for their team as I would expect them to do. Have a great night

The fact you won't acknowledge how these situations differ is why this conversation is pointless.

But to vote a Stanford team above OSU doesn't make much sense.
Exactly! Saban looking like a fricking idiot right now.

Okie State proving they did NOT deserve to go to NOLA, they are losing to STANFORD, who is one of the most overrated teams in the nation.
No kidding. We all knew Okie State's defense was pretty piss poor but I was expecting a lot more from their offense. They haven't been able to sustain any drives in this game. Only eight first downs and getting dominated in the time of possession. Weeden's been pretty off as well. He's been forcing throws into tight coverage and has been missing wide open receivers. Just not a good performance at all by Oklahoma State.

Are you his little ankle biting brother or do you just have a knack for injecting yourself into discussions you aren't a part of?
What part of revisionist history do you fail to comprehend? The vote occurred weeks ago, the vote should be based on the best available knowledge at that time. To look to this game to try to justify a vote weeks ago is nothing short of retarded. And to vote OSU behind Stanford, at the time, was tenuous at best.

LMFAO. Trying to pick at straws are we? He thought they were better then, and this game is proving it. He wasn't looking ahead, he knew Stanford could beat OSU (though neither of them are Top 5 material)

I wish you homers would just man up and say that he did it to help you get into the NC. But you can't even be honest enough to say that, which would catch him flak but it wouldn't make your fanbase look like such mindless gumps.
Based on the information we had when he made these rankings, please make a rational argument in favor of voting Stanford above OSU. Again, Saban had no fricking clue what this matchup would result in and all he had was the information AT THAT TIME. He's not a god, although he has y'all fooled.

Maybe Saban, or whoever filled out the ballot, knows more about football than you do.

I'm sorry, was this a private thread? You really should lock the door so I don't walk in on you again.

You always do this and your cry for attention on this board is sad.

So what's the argument? I'll wait. Conference champions? Less losses? I know what you'll say: Their loss was better.

Your coach used the same argument we did to get votes when there was a question that LSU wouldnt make it in 2007. Saban did the same thing. In fact, I would be shocked if they didnt considering the money they make.

ETA: Im pretty sure of the answer already.

Miles thought he was the best team. I think a valid argument could have been made for that ranking prior to the actual game with tOSU being played. I don't think that's the same situation as the Stanford over OSU argument this year. I think that's a much tougher sell. Again, I'm not arguing where Saban ranks Bama just as I don't think Miles should have necessarily voted tOSU above us at the time.
I get the vote in your teams best interest. But he never said that, nor did you SID. So we can only speculate. Many of your fans, not you, seem to want to argue that the vote was valid. Using this game as any indicator of a ranking done weeks ago is pretty bad logic IMO.

Man, I don't even know who you are. It's probably that anyone with "geaux" or "tiger" in their name just gets lost in the crowd, so don't take it personally. Have I been in a thread with you before and jumped in where I wasn't welcome? Isn't part of the idea of a message board vs email that others can join in and add (or subtract) from the discussion? Anyway, you just seem sad. And a little bitter. But it I "always do this", it shouldn't be too hard to find a link, should it?
quote:They both had identical records and played in major conferences, so why would there need to be an argument? You go ahead and project on Saban whatever you need to keep your obsession alive. I'll just sit back and...oh who am I kidding, I won't really notice if you're around or not.

I'm not taking it personal. I barely recognize anyone on this board I don't have sigs or any of that turned on. Hard to miss your handle though.

I said the argument was tenuous. Do you know what that means?
