You stole Neck from Southern.

Props to Bama's band for busting out with Les Miz and Phantom show tunes on defense, at least it's original.
Their half-time show about 4-5 years ago when they came to Oxford included the classic hit "Redneck Woman."

My all-time favorite "Million Dollar Band" performance.
I remember all the frat star idiots yelling at the bama dancers about how fat they all were.

I like bands.
If you don't like bands, watch the NFL instead.

They march on the court at halftime? They don't wear silly hats with plumes on them?
I'm not talking about a little pep band in the corner of the coliseum.

Maybe not exciting but it is something unique about college football. I wish Ole Miss had Stanford's band. Those guys are crazy.

No they don't. Most teams will only take their full band to 1-3 away games, not counting bowls. It might be free cost wise, but they put in several hundred hours of work each season, and most get nothing (or very little) money out of it.

The band is useless and takes up space where more people could be sitting. I've never understood having a band.
Well, screw you too.

Maybe not on the field, but the MDB pep band plays at all home mens and womens basketball games, some track events, gymnastics meets, a few softball games, the occasional baseball game, tennis meet, soccer match, wheelchair basketball, etc.

Don't remind me. Worst halftime show we ever did. I was so bored during that show I read the ribbon boards while we were performing it

Bands don't perform at basketball or baseball games, then why in the hell do they play at a football game?
But to your point, there are somewhat silly or arbitrary traditions in all sports that aren't in others. You don't flip or toss up before a baseball game. The coaches don't wear uniforms in football or basketball.

I've personally seen every SEC team play in person except for Missouri...thanks to being in the Famous Maroon Band (and thanks to high school band too since we went to the Alamo Bowl one year and saw Penn State beat Texas A&M).

Hold That Tiger is a big band jazz standard (Auburn and Clemson both have variations), and Hey Fighting Tigers is a parody of Hey, Look Me Over - a broadway show tune made popular when Lucille Ball recorded it.
Cameo, Bon Jovi, David Lee Roth, AC/DC. We define current and cutting edge.
