You would lose that bet. A vast majority of Bama fans are embarrassed by the actions of this lunatic. Even though his only tie to the University is that he's a fan of the football team (probably never been to any other on campus event), he is - regretably - associated with Alabama. His actions reflect poorly on the University in the eyes of those who don't know many Alabama people. We do not "love what updyke did". Quite the opposite.
The good news is, many SEC fans have had the opportunity to get to know Alabama people on a more personal level (not just a message board or radio call-in level)and they understand that Updyke is in the extreme minority of fans in how crazy he is. Most Alabam fans, just like most fans of every other SEC school, love their school, care about the team, and are passionate about both. However, most would never even consider doing something like what that moron did.
