Not sure how many jobs there are out there better than the gig he already has to make him bolt in the middle of the night.

Just a matter of time before Arkansas fans hate his guts.

Yeah, a middle of the pack SEC team that's never won the SEC Championship. There are plenty of jobs better than the one he has right now.

2007-2009 wants its joke back

I hope he hangs around until Saban retires and Bama gets him.

Not before Les Miles leaves LSU. That's right, Bobby Petrino will be at Arkansas longer than Les Miles is at LSU.

Problem with him leaving again is that he will never work in the NFL again...so taht takes out 32 HC jobs.
So unless he tanks hard at Arky the next 5 years adn someone looks at him for an OC role, he is college bound the rest of his career.

You mean the same guy that Alabama has beaten soundly the last 3 years? you want that guy to coach the Tide?
Petrino is an offensive mind...not a defensive type of coach..
thus, he will never win SEC hardware while Saban and Miles are controlling the SECW

nope, thats what the SEC non-compete clause in his contract is for.
thats the whole strategy, just hang around until Saban retires (he's 10 years older) then have a better chance to win the west/SEC every year

At this point I think there are only two things, barring health or some sort of scandal, that would make Petrino anytime soon.
1. A better position opening up. By that I mean an opening at one of the very top pier programs like Texas, Bama, Florida etc.
2. Fans turning on him. I know this may sound absurd to the rank and file Hog fans but it is possible. Here is what I mean. Petrino has indeed brought a great deal of success to Fayetteville. The past few years under him have been great. His first year there in 2008 they went 5-7 but did beat eventual SEC and National Champion LSU. In 2009 he improved his number to 8-5 and won the Liberty Bowl. Last year he went 10-2 but lost the Sugar Bowl. This season he's once again gone 10-2. He's put Arkansas in the hunt for the West title the past two seasons. However, what he's not done is actually win the West. In his four seasons at there, Arkansas fans have watched Alabama, Auburn and LSU all win SEC & BCS Championships and they will watch either Bama or LSU win another BCS Championship this season as well.
The question now becomes if Petrino cannot follow suit and bring at least a SEC title to Fayetteville how long will Hog fans settle for contending but not winning anything? I think that if he does not produce some sort of championship within the next two seasons, a tall task indeed considering what is going on at LSU & Bama not to mention that Auburn is a very young team that appears to be stockpiling talent to make yet another run itself, there will be growing concern that he simply cannot take Arkansas to that next step.
