I think Ole Miss and Our State will pull some recruits from Texas by playing there every other year

Miss beat you? WTF? Motherfricker you better learn this quick. There is Ole Miss and there is State.
Lastly, that was no squeaker. That was a thorough beating.

methinks two MSU fans were just trolled.

That was a little tongue-in-cheek but you really can't tell over the internet.

I really don't have a good answer other than the top prospects wouldn't consider us with offers from Texas, aTm, LSU, etc. The caliber of recruit we COULD get from Texas we can just get here in MS or AL. 95% of all our recruits come from MS, AL, LA, GA, FL.
Chizik and staff came in and believed AU was good enough to recruit anyone from anyhwere. Lot's of people doubted that at the time, but they don't anymore.

I'd say a good half of our roster is from OOS.

Ole Miss has always gotten out of state kids. Mullen is the one that is hell bent on locking down the state. But this year it seems to be working. We could have one of our top classes ever. Maybe the best. I don't know what our best is.

State doesnt' have the money to spend like the bigger programs on recruiting. I wish we had the money to spend on "recruiting" service like Willie Lyles.

quote:Well, we had our guys form GA and UF, but it seemed Tubbs accepted that AU couldn't get many big time prospects, especially if they weren't from AL, parts of Georgia or South Florida. It was like he was only comfortable recruiting in certain places. I may be way off base because I don't intimately know about OM's and MSU's recruiting, but I get that feeling about their recruiting. Maybe I am just trying to hard to relate it to what I know more about.

FWIW-Based on the number of Bundy threads I have seen lately, it appears MSU is having a pretty good run right now in recruiting.

Ole Miss did when they hired Ed Orgeron.

Has A&M really been much better than us in football the last 20 years? I was under the impression that they hadn't done shite.
Posted on 12/15/11 at 12:57 pm to WDE24
I don't see why either program would be scared of A&M. Really, they're nothing special.

A&M will be equal to MSU & Ole Miss in football over time. All three programs will have more 'down' years in conference than 'up' years. Regarding hoops & baseball...the Rebels & Bulldogs are going to beat your Aggie arse yearly. Welcome.

Had A&M hired Fedora then probably yes in football. Not worried a bit with Sumlin. In basketball and baseball, home team probably wins.

I am not convinced either way yet. I cant see how it helps...yet. They are just another school with alot more resources. I have always thought MSU got more bang for buck than many SEC schools. I football program sucked for several years in a row, but our baseball/basketball programs have been more than competitive over the years.
To me, it is more about the administration and coaches. If A&M hires good coaches, then it will probably hurt us, especially if we are not hiring good ones. If they dick around and continue to make poor coaching choices, it could help.

I agree as well. I think the Sumlin hire definately helps State and Ole Miss' football programs. I just dont think that Houston run and gun offense will be able to flourish vs SEC defenses.

You saw what Sumlin's team did against little ole state last year without Keenum. That shite isn't gonna work at A&M. They made that hire to make the fans happy. They should have tried a little harder.
