Well as some of you guys remember the whole Whitney Hotel incident that happened before the season and about discounted rates or something. Anyway SC's response was today.
You can follow these links and look at all of the individual responses, but its too much to read, luckily someone did read it and according to the state we're essentially offering 6 scholarship losses over a 3 year span. Hopefully the NCAA, with its hands full right now, will just accept that and let us move on.
Its a punishment that can hurt, but nothing too bad.

Honestly the rest of the SEC should be scared, we are showing that we belong in the SEC and doing everything we can to be a top SEC team. Just like several other SEC powerhouses.

Seeing how Auburn apparently owns the NCAA, they'll have to clear this with our AD before signing off on anything. Good news is Auburn has beaten Carolina three times in the past year and the Gamecocks are rotating off our schedule thus they are not really a threat. i'm pretty sure they'll take this in account and make sure our toadies at the NCAA go easy.

USC fans love to discredit any success by Clemson in the 80's because of their "cheating" and probation. Looks like USC is no better than Clemson in that regard now that they have offered to put themselves on three year's probation. Guess Clemson has an excuse for losing three in a row to USC since they were cheating. Frickin cheaters!

Really? You want to compare a few players getting discounts at a local hotel to what Clempson did in the '80s? They gave away cars and cash, literally cited for over 150 violations over a 4 year period or so. Now can you argue it was worth it because they never had the title vacated? Sure. But many a person have thrown in "could shoulda almost got the death penalty" it was that bad.
Enjoy the read
Also earlier this year Clemmons reported their own list of secondary violations.
9 Secondary
Yeah I'm defensive and Yeah I posted all this simply to say no, Clempson can't say shite about this as an excuse as to why we've whipped their arse recently.

Just a sarcastic comment, saying that we wouldn't be a real SEC school without some sort of NCAA issues at some point or another.

They have to put up with Clemson fans. Isn't that punishment enough?

That was just to appease The Evil Genius when the AD dumped Garcia. Rumor is Stevie was playing the ole Sandusky with Stephen, ya know.
