Big 12 Woes

Don't know if this has been mentioned here, but Brad Edwards just said something on ESPN that I'd been thinking last night. Oklahoma State has Texas and the Big 12 to blame for their BCS snub, if you want to call it that. He said the voting was so close that a Championship Game would have made the difference for them, assuming they beat Oklahoma the week Bama beat AU and beat Kansas St in a Big 12 Championship. Political infighting in the Big 12 is the root of this. I believe this to be true, as I watched LSU leap into the BCS ahead of USC in 2004 because of the SECCG and repeat the process in 2007 WITH TWO LOSSES but a victory over TN in the SECCG.
I think Bama is deserving, BUT they should feel fortunate that the Big 12, 11, 10, 9.....is so dysfunctional. Over here in the SEC, we are just one big happy family

While that all may be true.
What ESPN is really selling is....Dont blame anyone else if you dont like that the system can be manipulated.
And it was manipulated....you need only read the BCS website, look at who and how Harris and Coaches voted....and the mysterious, unpublished math in the computers.

no doubt.... if OSU curb stomped OU two weeks ago, then beat KSU (for instance) senseless this past saturday, there's little doubt they would be playing in the BCSNCG.

your absolutely right it was manipulated. how else does a team jump from 5th to 3rd in the voter polls when stanford didnt lose. pure manipulation. and everybody is upset that not enough voters participated in the con. my my my

I've been saying this. OU and Okie lite and Texas and Baylor played their regular games on championship saturday. Sure, OU and Okie lite were the best two teams and the winner of that game became the conf. champ, but it wasn't a championship game.

the big 12 should be mad that they didn't vote for a plus one when it was proposed by mike slive

there were several components at play that got alabama in. one of which, your coach and the majority of other coaches who had a vote, voted alabama as #2.... none of which involved alabama doing anything other than playing their season. all of which involved everyone participating in the system that your team & every other bcs team agreed to.
