ITT: Ranters eat crow for being wrong about voter backlash

We were told that if Va Tech lost and OSU won big in Bedlam, OSU would get the votes needed to pass Alabama in the BCS.
All that happened.
Yet, Alabama didn't get passed.
And Bama wouldn't have gotten passed even if OSU jumped us in every computer poll.

The point is that the voters didn't line up for OSU the way everyone said they would.
Even ignoring the help we got in the computers, the human votes were not enough for OSU.

Plenty of ranters tried to lead us to believe voter backlash would absolutely put OSU in the game.
Didn't happen. Wouldn't have happened even if their calculators had been correct about the computers.

Eat crow because you went from being the lock of the century to getting in by one computer and 32 Harris votes? Wow. You're right. We were WAAAYYY off.
As for VT, that was a reach by anyone that said it, and they lost last night, so it was kind of a moot point.
The fact is, a lot more voters flipped to OSU than any of you or the ESPN geniuses ever expected. If anybody deserves some love around here, it is lsumatt for calling the scenario that came very close to playing out. He was closer than the experts who get paid to do it, so for all you Gumps who trashed him, throw the man some props.
You still got in. Be happy. Until you lose in the Dome on 1/9, that is.

I was wrong; I believed that OSU was getting in. I thought the SEC hate would overcome everything. Guess I have to be wrong once a season...
