Saban, 2003: "Anyone who doesn't win their conference

has no business playing in the national championship game"
For the record, I have no problem playing Alabama again. In fact I'm on record begging for a rematch.
That said, I'd honestly like to know how Bama Nation feels about Saban's blatant hypocrisy.
And does anyone think that there's a single member of the press anywhere who -- at anytime between now and the release of the final BCS standings next weekend -- will ask him if he still stands by that? Which is it, Nick? Be honest.

Can anyone find irrefutable evidence that he actually said this?

They couldn't the last time this was posted, and nobody could remember him saying that. Once again, I smell BS.

Even if you have him on video saying this........he will deny it.

I don't think anyone can. But it doesn't matter what he said then. All that matters is what the talking heads at ESPN say.

And "I will not be the coach at Alabama."
Really, he's worse than a politician.

I do remember him and Pete Carrol lobbying hard for Oklahoma to be excluded because at the time it was going to be either LSU or USC left out of the game, and both were pleading their case to be included.
This was said by one of them, but I can't remember which one.

This quote has been passed around yet nobody can cite it.
Dubious at best.

Where has he said we're worthy? Not saying I don't think we are, because we are... but we're talking about a NON record of what Saban said vs another non record of another thing he said.
I havent heard saban's two cents on this year yet.

Nice going ESPN BCS poll. Alabama, and all who are still also trying to make our proud 2011 LSU football team a bunch of chumps. You guys have the Characteristics of intelligent people living a style of sophistication that is nothing more then a low down way of fixing the game as a means to steal. Nice going guys. We all now understand more clearly. You over looked one small detail however as you now genuflect to your ESPN fixed altar.
See you in the Super Dome New Orleans Louisiana.”He who has the last laugh, laughs best.”

What's he supposed to do?
Saban: Well, you know back in 03 I said that a team needed to win their conference, so I don't think this 2011 bama team deserves to play for the BCS title.
The Harvey Updyke's of the world would be calling in death threats.

And btw, this thread indicates that you actually really DON'T want Bama in the championship. You can be on record for saying whatever you want, but psychology 101 says you're easy to read ;)

This quote has a cited reference on the wiki page for the 2004 Sugar Bowl.
It's allegedly from an article titled "Saban ready for Oklahoma" which was written by a columnist for the St. Louis Daily Dispatch in 2003.
There's no link, so who knows.

Right. Wikipedia is not a place where 100% truth is found.

This is something new.... "I will not be the head coach of alabama"

I'm just saying that that is the only place that has a cited reference.
If someone can find that article it would clear things up.

Bama is deserving of the skull fricking (and kicking) Jordan Jefferson will give the Tide this time around while the flunkie they call a QB is taking more sacks and hits. AJ will be out of this game by the 2nd quarter similar to Colt McCoy
