If LSU and Alabama rematch for the BCSCG, can a third SEC team go to a BCS bowl? I remember there being an exception to the "two teams only from each conference" rule that involved the BCS championship, but I don't know the details.

Per Mrcfb on twitter
"BCS handbook says conference only gets three if two non-champs are ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in final BCS standings.

Yes. Pigglets can get a 3rd BCS bid for the SEC in this scenario.
And probably will.

also,
"So LSU would have to lose in SEC championship game to Georgia and still get into BCS title game with Alabama. Then the SEC could get three."

great, maybe the pigs will get another chance to embarass the SEC on a national level.

What would really suck for LSU is if the piggies pull the upset and we screw ourselves with a 11-1 record out of a BCS bowl.

If arky beats LSU then lose to Georgia, then it's bama LSU ncg and Georgia sugar bowl.

Arky has to win SEC to go to the BCS. Only way a conference can get 3 in is if #1 and #2 didn't win the league. For example, Georgia beats unbeaten LSU, LSU stays #1 (like OU 2003) and Alabama is #2. They play for the title, Georgia gets auto bid to the Sugar as conference champ.

So the answer is no. There is no scenario where LSU & Bama are in the NCG and Arkie gets a BCS bowl.
But Arkie is still in the running for lots of options... It's just that the options that have them in a BCS bowl do not include a BAMA LSU rematch.
