Main criteria- of these 12, who would you most like to have as the coach of your program?

1)Saban-best program builder/sustainer in the country
2)Miles-might move up even with Saban if he can win another BCS this year
3)Petrino-best offensive mind in the game; needs to improve recruiting and have a better defense
4)Spurrier-not what he once was, but has made USC a solid program
5)Franklin-one of the best up and coming coaches in the game
6)Richt-he has already peaked as a coach
7)Chizik-C. Newton bought him a couple of extra years; he will be an 8-4 type coach which won't sit well with Au fans
8)Mullen-he should have left while h is stock was up
9)Muschamp-completely lost; was an overrated DC too
10)Dooley- I thought he was going to be good; I was wrong
11)Nutt-The fact that he is ahead of Phillips tells you how I feel about the Joke
12)Phillips- Ouch

your 4 and 5 are wrong. I think Richt is 4 but only by default. Franklin is an immature punk arse and Spurrier, while still no one to be trifled with, is just too... beatable, i guess?

ETA And, yeah, I'd rather have Richt over Franklin and Spurrier. Trying to keep my Falcons bias aside, I think it'd be a push between Petrino and RIcht. If I can keep Grantham and the defensive staff with Petrino, then I'd take that over Richt

If given the choice to have Richt, Franklin, or Spurrier to coach LSU, Richt would be my 3rd choice.

If given he choice, I'd probably look elsewhere over those three. But Richt brings more of a recruiting draw and a pride in your coach to the game. Spurrier is an almost-washed up dick and Franklin, like I said, is a punk

I just don't understand how people can question Petrino's recruiting when Arkansas is staring down 8 (2009), 10 (2010), and anywhere from 9-12 (2011) wins over the last three years.

If his recruiting is truly as bad as rivals would have you believe, he's doing the best coaching job in the country, much less the SEC. Pick one.

If you plugged Miles for Petrino, university for university and leave the staff's the same, what do you predict the result would be? I really don't know.

If he recruited on the nationally elite level of Saban, Miles, etc., he would be winning championships instead of being happy with double-digit winning seasons. No one is saying his recruiting is that bad; it's just not as good as the other top coaches in the conference, especially on defense.

Didn't Jokers KY team just thump Nutt's Bears? I agree Joker is....well....er...not a good coach but you have to get him credit for the head to head win.

this ranking isn't based on just this season, just on who i would want as the head coach of my favorite program.

Petrino is sitting pretty.

If LSU beats Ark, it will be his 4th straight season without an SECCG appearance.

The fact Ark generally does not recruit to the level of LSU, Bama, and Auburn makes their chances of reaching Atlanta more difficult.

Richt is definitely a top 5 coach in the SEC, I'd put him at 4 behind Bobby P

lol, he's basically had two years where he had a team that could even compete, just so happens it's been two of the strongest years in the West's history.

I believe he'll get us there one day.....when Saban retires or goes to Penn State maybe.
