So either this year or next year mullen is going to a BCS game. Then next year or the year after he will be right back in the battle for the west?

It doesn't matter. Everyone knows the world is ending in 2012.

Rebuilding from what...the last time either of these won the SEC was 1941

The sad excuse that was the Sylvester Croom error

Year 1:
Petrino 4-8, 2-6
Mullen 5-7 3-5
Year Two
Petrino 8-5 3-5
Mullen 9-4 4-4
so he's pretty much right up until this year. With a full offseason as the starter and pretty much all WRs back, Russell will win 8-9 games next year

Isn't the 3rd and 4th year of a new coaching staff a much better measurement than the 1st and 2nd year as to the direction of a program? That's when both staffs have had time to get their recruits in place.

Petrino went 5-7 his first year

Well if it is we're going to be pretty good. Mullen's recruits on defense are better as a unit than last year's with three NFL players and two NFL starters up front. Offensively it will be all his next year, IMO

You probably will be better. Do you see State getting to a BCS Bowl Game next year?

They don't, unless Mullen becomes charming over night and stops competing with Southern Miss for recruits.

Nope. I'm fine with 8-9 wins and a good bowl.

lol that's cute considering our defense is light years ahead of your's with 100% of them being Merlins recruits. Not having quality QB play has been our dagger

you guys are 17th in defense, giving up 19PPG, we're 30th in defense giving up 21PPG.
I didn't say anything about Defense, I said Miss St isn't going to any BCS bowls #38, #44 ranked classes, and not even in the top 50 so far this year, and not in any many big prospects. Do you disagree?
