As to what I would do if something like that happened at Auburn, first off I would be really devestated. I love Auburn and it would be hard to reconcile my good memories with such awful things. The first thing I would do would be to write a letter to the BOT demanding everyone involved be fired and that the University do everything it could to help the victims.

I'd still love Auburn, but I would hate everyone involved in the incidents. I would boycott all athletic events until after the administration and the athletic staff cleaned house.

After they fired everyone involved I would probably slowly come back to supporting the school/team, realizing that the actions of a few should not make me hate the entire institution. But it would be really tough to cheer for the Tigers without thinking of all the awful things that happened from people representing my school.

I pray nothing like that ever occurs at Auburn (or any other school for that matter). Just terrible for those poor kids.

I would want them to clean house, so to speak. Everyone who was involved in any cover up has to go immediately. Hopefully, this episode with Penn State will become an example that should be remembered with any issue colleges have involving criminal activity whether its pedophilia, rape or any other violent behavior, or drugs.

I guess the Discovery Channel has their new "Dirty Job" episode. I mean, you have to feel for the janitor for having to clean that shower after seeing that. No wonder he's wacked out in a nursing home now.

There is no innocent until proven anything here. The man is guilty as sin and so is everybody else.

This. I'm trying to read the Grand Jury Report, but I have to take breaks because I keep getting nauseous.

I don't think I could support Auburn University until everyone that had knowledge of this was fired or in jail. Preferably, all of the above.

Oh dear God. I really need to read up on this story. Just...wow.

In all honesty, my diploma would probably come off the wall along with anything else that had Auburn on it. I would be beyond devestated and embarassed.

Correct, and I will tell you with 99.8% certainty the PSU legal department was involved.

But remember this was after they (University Police) tapped a conversation of Him admitting to Mom he showered naked with her kid and his penis may have rubbed against the childs back. AFTER...

What confuses me about this situation is the students that are rallying behind Joe Pa. Either they haven't taken the time to read the Grand Jury report or just don't care about the facts.

He KNEW what happened in 02', and yes he reported it to his superior, but WHY were the police never called? He failed majorly at his moral responsibility to protect that child and future children from this monster.

Joe Paterno can burn in hell for all i care. He didn't give a frick about the victims then, and his refusal to step down right now says he still doesn't give a frick. It's all about Joe frickin Paterno. Selfish, heartless piece of shite......

It is pretty amazing. They had a writer on ESPN who grew up in the town - he was also on Mike & Mike this morning - and he talked about how the town basically is Penn State, everything is about Penn State - and to them Penn State is about football and Joe Paterno. Again, amazing how so many can't step aside and look at this clearly, but this is a micro look at how blinded people can become from their "local color" they are subjected to their entire life.

I've seen this before first-hand and was amazed at how a group of followers would not even listen to logic and defended what they thought was right, even though it was so clear and presented in a way you would think they would have agreed with the truth. But again - most of them were brought up their entire lives thinking one way and had horse-blinders on they could not take off.

Life itself can be that way for a lot of people. They see things the way they want to see them, the way they are used to seeing them, and want to continue to do so. It' will be interesting to see if this continues to this degree in that community/school.

First Thoughts after hearing this let me give Joe P. the benefit of the doubt until I read up on this. Read the indictment, An thought to myself Joe P. is also part of the problem and the Grad. Student that didn't beat the s*** out of the guy in the shower with the boy. He is a coward and scum to look at that boy and to see this and know the child is looking at him for help. dammit I'm pissed!!!

he is currently the WR coach. Anyone else think he could have been given the job in exchange for his silence.

First off, anyone who hurts a child should have their sack ripped off with a pair of channel locks and anyone who knows that children are being hurt and are doing nothing to stop it should endure the same.

I'm not sure i could support the school again, this isnt somthing like paying a player or some random violation of ncaa rules, this is a serious crime against children over many years.

I really dont know how i would react to it, i really feel for the fans of Penn St, this wont go away soon nor should it.

I would want the entire administration and coaching staff gone. I would rather lose than do what PSU is doing.

I have an Army buddy that is a huge PSU booster. He told me the name before it was public and he stated that there has always been a question as to how "This mediocre player ever landed a coaching position".

Here's a link to the indictment if you want to read the gory details and who all was implicated. It's pretty sickening.

Joe should do the honorable thing and just kill himself. I am not joking. Too disgusted to think about this anymore.
