The score at the end of the day and the BCS rankings at the end of the season determine the better team(s). Beforehand, it's up for debate. Arguing after the fact is pointless and cheap. The system isn't perfect, but all teams know the rules. Teams choose to play within the system and in doing so, they accept these rules. If your team didn't play as well as you think it should have, clearly they weren't as good as you thought. If they had a bad week and lost to a high school team, your team has a problem with consistency. The scoreboard and standings will reflect this. Argue all you want that your team would win in a rematch, but we don't have rematches in college football (for the most part). Teams go into games knowing this. You get one shot to prove who is the better team. If you blow it, if you don't use all of your resources properly, if you call the wrong plays, if you show up with a bunch of third string high school players, if the refs were biased, or if aliens interfered, your team should've been better prepared. If you think the score or the rankings should be determined differently, work to change the system, or pick another sport to follow.

If telling some college kids that they suck and your team should've beaten them makes you feel better, there's something seriously wrong with you. If you wouldn't do it to a peewee league team, you shouldn't do it at the college level, either. If you would do it to a peewee league team, please diaf. The world is better off without you. A win is a win. Don't be a POS and try to take it away because you aren't happy with the outcome. It sucks when your team loses. We've all been there. Be an adult and give the other team credit. Hopefully they'll return the favor when your team wins down the road.

This cuts BOTH ways. IF the "system" selects Bama to play LSU....let's not have you coming back and whining about "fairness". Deal?

Yep, when you're not successful, the things you do to correct your problems shows what type of character you have.

I've already stated that I think Bama is the number 2 team in the country right now. A rematch with them worries me the most. I'd love to see it, but not at the expense of having to hear some undefeated team in another conference cry about it. Out of fairness, I think an undefeated team deserves a chance at the NC above a team with a loss. Having said that, I didn't design the system. If the system picks Bama to play LSU again, I'm ok with that. Let the other conferences complain and get the system changed. The BCS isn't perfect, but hopefully over time the wrinkles will be ironed out and the system will be as fair as possible.

I agree with this....a rematch may not be fair...but if the system produces one, then it is what it is, as it is what we agreed to. We are not USC who want to change the rules Mid-stream when it doesn't go our way. If you don't like it, then change the system, or don't sign up for it. Probably not a popular opinion, but would be hypocritical to bitch about the way it works out after 2003....plus...I think we stomp Bama in the dome. Speed kills, and turf amplifies speed.

I agree. The best two teams at the end of the season should play. It's so obvious but some on here are afraid to play Bama again.

In the end, absent politics, the best two teams will be reflected in the BCS standings. I'll support whomever they are.

Tell us more nostradumas. Last I checked the SEC West champ has not been decided. Nor have the BCSCG teams been declared. If LSU fricks up, you might not play in either game.

These Bama people whining for a rematch fail to realize 2 things:

1.) They had their chance and blew it. Period.

2.) The rematch wouldn't be played in Tuscaloosa. The rematch would be played in New Orleans... the Superdome, thus giving us a decided homefield advantage.

I think I'm siding with Pete Fiutak on the topic of a rematch. It would be insanely unfair to LSU. Alabama would get another chance at LSU on a neutral field, and if they win they win the NCG? But LSU already beat Alabama at home!

Plus, I'm just gonna be honest, the only thing the SEC has left to prove after beating all the other relevant conference champs the last 5 years is to prove Boise State can't hang with a top-tier SEC team. Have Boise State play in the NCG, have them get smashed, and end the Boise question forever. It sucks they'd take up a potential spot, but Stanford doesn't exactly have a glowing resume. If Okie State wins out I'll support them getting in though.

LSU is a field goal better than Alabama.

If Ok St. or Stanford wins out they deserve to play in the game. If not, Alabama is clear #2 & will have earned a spot in the #1 vs. #2 BCSNCG.

Boise St. does not deserve a spot in the game.

Seems pretty simple to me. If you don't like the possibility of a rematch, you should begin lobbying for a playoff system

I won't disagree that it is possibly unfair but the BCS' objective is not to be fair. It's sole purpose is to matchup #1 vs #2 at the end of year. If those two teams are Alabama & LSU then it is what it is.

I've already said my piece on it, that Okie State deserves to go in undefeated but I would prefer undefeated Boise over undefeated Stanford or one-loss Alabama if only to end the continuous Boise speculation

But "lobbying for a playoff system"? Good luck with that. The NCAA itself is going to have to change before they do something that sensible.

LSU won and deserves all the credit. We don't deserve a "rematch". Here's hoping LSU goes all the way.
