Chances that LSU/Bama Winner Does Not Win Out

I think people have been sleeping on the possibility of the winner of this game not winning out. Each of them has one major test left in the regular season plus the SECCG. I would still give them better than 50/50 odds, but neither of these teams has had that "slip-up" game yet. Some examples are Miami vs BC in 2001, USC vs ND in 2005, Florida vs OM in 2008 (which they actually lost), and Bama vs Tennessee in 2009. If 2001 Miami had a near miss, it's not above these teams either. Here are the remaining schedules:
LSU:
November 12 vs Western Kentucky
November 19 at Ole Miss
November 26 vs Arkansas
December 3 SEC Championship Game
Bama:
November 12 at Mississippi State
November 19 vs Georgia Southern
November 26 at Auburn
December 3 SEC Championship Game

Both win out without much problem imo. (especially Bama, Auburn has nothing)

There doesn't need to be a slip up game if the teams are really dominant - Nebraska 95 and USC 2004

Besides when LSU takes care of Bama, Arkansas is not going to be a hiccup this year and the other two are stat inflaters for the team

One scenario I thought about is if LSU beat Bama, Arky beat LSU, and the three teams won all other games. It would be a situation like the Big 12 South in 2008 where you had three 11-1 teams. One team plays for the National Title, one team plays in a BCS Bowl, and one team gets the Capital One Bowl. What are the SEC's tiebreakers for that situation?

Bama is home free, but LSU would still have a very tough Arky game.

Are you saying these teams are better than 2001 Miami?

Each team will win all their remaining games by 24 points plus.

Miss State at home will be tougher for Bama than most think!!!

After winning over Bama (with TR and their D) R-kansas will be a blip in the screen in terms of a challenge to the team.

Neither team finishes undefeated. You can thank the hype for this game as one small part of that.

I think the only potential upset out the remaining six games of regular season play is Arky against LSU. I think we take care of business this year, but I quit pretending that game is a big game every year. Overlook them, and they are playing spoiler like they basically did in 2007. We won't get miracles like that year.
I know the iron bowl is usually interesting, but Bama is too strong for Auburn this year.

The last couple times LSU has played Ole Miss and Arky...
2009
Ole Miss L 23-25
Arky W 33-30(OT)
2010
Ole Miss W 43-36
Arky L 23-31
Let's not get too cocky now.

If bama wins tomorrow you should all bet the house on MSU to cover the spread the following week.

You do realize that the same squads don't play each year and that the average level of the top team and the rest of the teams change.
There is an absolute scale each year with the rankings but those rankings are only relative to THAT year and not on an absolute scale.
For e.g.
Miami (2001) was dominant over the other teams THAT YEAR.
LSU (2011) is dominant over teams THIS YEAR.
It could well be that Miami of 2001 could be dominant over teams in 2011 and LSU of 2011 be dominant over teams of 2001.
There is nothing in these statements that suggest that LSU of 2011 is dominant over Miami of 2001 or vice versa.

meh...
I am a fan on a fricking internet message board and the team is playing lights out and dominating opponents - of course I am going to be cocky about LSU thrashing opponents.
Time for wimping out and being insecure is part of a losing team's mentality.
