Kiffin also had the luxury of two first round NFL players on defense. Not to mention several NFL players on offense.

There are a few players on that team who could probably thank Kiffin and his staff for getting them to the NFL.

How did you get that out of my post?

I said Kiffin benefited from having them on the team, not he put them in the NFL.

Dan Williams benefitted from Coach O more than Kiffin benefitted from him.

You could say something similar about Crompton.

This probably supports his point.

How? UT had a bad year in '05 sure but can you imagine the reaction if a SC fan said we had surpassed UT talent wise and are a higher notch on the SEC ladder back then?

The talent levels in 05 were not that far apart, nor or they now, with Tennessee being slightly more talented then, and SC slightly more now. Both games were won by the superior coach.

SC has not surpassed Tennessee as a program, and they hadn't then. They are quite a ways away from doing that.

Uh no. 1 game doesn't make someone a superior coach. Unless you're willing to bet that the likes of Houston Nutt, David Shaw, Mike Riley, Steve Sarkisian, etc. are all better than Kiffin.

SC got off to a bad start to say the least, and it was over before we knew what it us. Once the game got to a normal pace it evened out.

Also I guess using this standard, how many people on here are willing to say Spurrier > Saban. I believe he is 3-1 vs Saban including wins over Saban while at LSU and 'Bama.

I really didn't follow what you were even saying. I thought we were talking about the 05 games and this year.

As far as the 09 game, the talent level was pretty close. Kiffin outcoached Spurrier that day, but Spurrier obviously has the better track record.

I was responded you saying that both games were won by superior coaches (you were talking about the 2005 and 2009 games correct?) And I was saying that 1 game doesn't justify saying that Kiffin is a superior coach to Spurrier.

Oh ok. In that I have no problem agreeing with you.

On a different note, the kid is young and he will have plenty of chances to prove himself and an opportunity to build some confidence against MTSU this weekend but I think we also saw a glimpse of why we didn't recruit Worley.
At least Bray will be back.. maybe next year SC will get to see him for a full 4 QTs.

Regardless of what was said, it wouldn't have been far off.

As a 33 year old man now whose followed LSU Sports since the early teens, it is odd to say the least seeing both the Florida and Tennessee programs at their current status..

If that is the case, and Tenn goes that route let me tell you that y'all will be getting into Curley Hallman land or maybe Nutt case Ole Piss levels of play for a few years.

Kiffin had nothing to do with last night's clusterfrick.

And, Dooley didn't force two passes that were intercepted.
