So I'm sitting at the bar in missouri and 2 guys sit a couple seats down at the bar to have a few drinks tonight. One guy was wearing a mizzou hat so being an SEC fan I ask them their thoughts on Mizzou possibly joining the SEC. They respond it's pretty cool. Then I ask would you rather be in the east or the west of the S.E.C.? They said we don't care. So I asked why and they said we don't really think we could win the SEC. So I asked, hypothetically would you rather play LSU in the SEC championship game or Florida? The guy with the Mizzou hat said and I quote "I would rather watch the Cardinals play in a playoff game." The other guy said he would rather watch kansas play missouri in college basketball. WTF? These are the people we just let in our conference?

I live in Columbia....your post is accurate. Baseball is much bigger up here than college football. Mizzou football has gained more interest over the last decade, but still pales in comparison to most SEC schools.

Is Mizzou even good at college baseball?

I know the Cards are big and actually the Royals might be finally on the rise.

I'd respect their baseball fandom more if they could put 10k+ into a Mizzou game, like Arkansas and LSU do.

Another reason that MIZ-ZOU football sucks...

They can stay their Asses in the Big 12-2

I almost hope these guys get DGB just so they can beat teams like Kentucky and Ole Miss and not bring the overall strength of the conference down.

I don't think this is a good addition.

It's a great addition.

The conference is hard enough as it is. Adding strong academic institutions with new TV markets and recognizable names is a no-brainer.

The fact that they are usually mediocre in football is a plus. We don't need another Vandy, but we damn sure don't need another powerhouse.

It would be good for the conference. Just annoying for the fans.

I live in Jefferson City and as much as I want to drive 30 minutes to see SEC football, the passion just isn't the same. If they Mizzou fans were half as passionate as the Cards fans are right now it would be OK. They are in for culture shock when the Bama, LSU, UF, etc., fans roll into town on Thursday and start doing it right.

Funny quote at work today, a guy was miffed that you are not allowed to leave during a SEC game and then re-enter the stadium he said "Mizzou fans aren't going to like that" LMFAO!

Why the hell would you want to leave at half time to go drink more. Seems like if any SEC stadium allowed it, it would just be one huge clusterfrick and no one would make it back for kick off (either just wouldn't come back, or would be late from everyone trying to do the same).

Yea I know, but if people are leaving at halftime, what the hell are they doing but drinking. My point was just that it seems like it would be a huge hassle and not worth it to leave and come back.

Smoking. Missouri still allows indoor smoking in restaurants and what not, the last time I was up there which wasn't that long ago.
