I just found your board, so I figured I would post something. I am a regular at texags.com, so y'all are welcome over there at any time. The Rivalries Board is always, um, "interesting".
First of all, we Aggies are happy to finally have this whole ordeal over with and be officially in the SEC. The amount of ridiculousness we have had to endure from the likes of Baylor is beyond comprehension. The Big 12 is to conferences what Jersey Shore is to television.
We are proud and honored to be the only school in the great State of Texas to be a member of the premier conference in college football. That's what it's all about to us...you've got to compete with the best to be the best.
We fully realize we are taking a big step up in competition. We are realistic in our expectations, and realize it will be a tough road in the beginning. But we believe we have the resources to compete for MNCs, and there is no better place to do it than the SEC.
I damn near pissed my pants laughing at the A&M press conference thread. We are used to that kind of crap, believe me. We know we are, um, "unique". We have strange traditions, goofy Corps dudes, bizarre yells, and male yell leaders (and no female cheerleaders). For some odd reason, lots of people like to Whoop every 30 seconds during a press conference. We get it. Most of our traditions can be traced back to A&M's origins as an all-male military institution. Thankfully, the all-male part is long gone, but the military roots still shine through. While the Corps of Cadets at A&M is an important part of the school, historically and currently, it always seems like they show the goofiest dork in the corps, complete with his military issue glasses (and his fat-arse girlfriend) squeezing his nuts (see my avatar) on tv. Most of us, however, have hair and hot girlfriends...just so you know.
One thing we also have, though, is passion. We have an absolutely fanatical fan base, much like other SEC schools. Our student section (known as the 12th Man) is the largest in the country. Kirk Herbstreit called it the best in college football.
We have suffered through a decade plus of mediocre to bad football. That coming after a decade plus of dominating college football in the state of Texas. We have been set back immeasurably by the hiring of Coach Fran (thanks, Bama) and are just now getting out of the funk he put us in. We are finally getting to where we should be, with top ten recruiting classes and increasing success on the field. We're not there yet, but most Aggies feel like we are headed in the right direction. Last Saturday's OSU Charlie Foxtrot not withstanding.
That's all I've got.
So anyway, bring forth the sheep f***ing jokes.
P.S. Since so many of you seem to think A&M women are ugly, the A&M Hottie thread is forthcoming.

Welcome Randy. I think it is very admirable that you know you are going to catch hell. There is going to be period of hazing for A&M as a new SEC Member. Your rivals in the West are definitely going to be LSU & Arky. Us Bama fans have much respect for a school that had The Bear as Head Coach and Coach Stallings as a former player. Welcome Aboard. Now get your arse to work on getting those pics of hot A&M girls!

December 17th, 1998, my birthday. What a day to come out to my first two friends. I remember it vividly, perhaps a little too vividly. I remember it being an awful day to begin with. I had just come home from my freshman year of college, and I was already in distress. I had to have a doctors appointment to examine whether or not I may have testicular cancer. So, it was a stressor enough to have to wonder agonizingly about it.
I later saw my two friends at the store that I was working in, and for my birthday i was invited to one of their houses. We had talked the entire night about stuff that had gone on. Only, I could tell they had something on their minds. I knew it, the fact that I had a "fling" with our mutual friend between all 3 of us. They confronted me about it, and told me not to hide it anymore, because "they knew". It was so hard for me to tell them the truth, and it was then that i broke down and told them my whole life story....
I had been sexual abused by a neighbor early on in my childhood, and for those of you who have had the same experience, please do something about it, either tell someone, turn them in, or seek counseling, because I kept quite, and for that I am paying the price. All my life because of those repeated incidents I questioned who i really was. I tired my hardest to suppress my gay feelings throughout my school.
Thankfully, i came to college, and i was embraced by some wonderful friends who taught me to love myself. I am now a happier person, and I am at the point of my life (age 20 in Dec.) where, if someone asks me if i am gay, then I wont have a petrified feeling inside of me, i will say who I am. Hopefully, in time I will have the opportunity to share this with my parents as well. Oh yeah, I dont have cancer either YEAH!!
